Hi everyone,

So, does anyone know how often they do special discounted rates for AP holders at the 3 Disney hotels?

If no special is running, do they do a standard 10% off the rack rate, or nothing at all?

Thanks,

Leanne

Leanne, I don't think that they have any method to their madness when it comes to AP specials. Except that they usually have them during their slower periods. For example, one year we were able to get an special AP rate near the end of January on a Sunday night. The best way to keep track of the AP rates is to refer to the AP newsletter that you will receive in the mail or by going to the AP section on the DL website.

As far as the AP discount goes, when you call to make a reservation tell them that you are an annual passholder and they will give you the discount. It doesn't matter what time of year or when you call; it's an automatic discount. I hope this helps!

That does help Lisa - thanks so much!

When can I expect my first newsletter?  Do you know?

Should I be checking the AP site more than once a week?

I don't know how quickly they start sending the newsletter. But if it's been a couple of months and you haven't gotten it yet, I suggest calling them to complain. Also, you'll probably be receiving a copy of Family Fun magazine in the mail as well. They used to send out free issues of the Disney Magazine before they discontinued it.  ::SOB!!!::

BTW, I was quoted in the Disney Magazine once!    I really miss it! They had such great articles and I loved seeing the photos people submitted. Anyway...

Oh Lisa - I sooo miss the Disney Magazine!  It was something I loved reading, and I have saved all my old issues!

Since we just got the AP's a few weeks ago, I will be patient for a few months before I worry about my newsletter.  Thanks for the info!

The AP discount is 10%, but it's not always available.  For example, when I booked my room for my little last minute trip in June, the AP rate and the AAA rate both were not available.  I guess it's like the airlines that sell a certain number of seats per class of ticket... so it is with the AP and AAA rates.   Bummer eh?

Thanks Diane for confirming that.  I thought space was limited on the discount, but wasn't sure until you let us all know!
