Hello...first time poster here.  My daughter is turning 2 in December and her party theme will be of course, the Doodlebops.  I'm trying to think of some cute activities, and food, that are Doodlebop related.  I've already seen the coloring pages, but was hoping there might be some other ideas out there.  I'd love to do a "Where's Moe" search (kinda like Find Waldo) or pin the keytar on DeeDee, but my photoshop skills aren't that good.  And as far as food ideas go, I'm thinking of doing rice krispie treats but with fruity pebbles cereal and cutting them out with cookie cutters, but that's as far as I've gotten.  I wish they made Doodlebop costumes for adults - I'd buy the set and find friends to dress up!!!  I would love to see her face if DeeDee was there singing and dancing to "Wobbly Whoopsy"!  She LOVES that song.  Any other ideas you guys might have would be great.  Thanks, in advance, for your help!!!

Mommy Doodle (that's what my daughter calls me!)

These are great ideas! Did you check out the party merchandise you can buy for the decorations on Ty's toy box? Sorry I don't have any ideas for what else you can do at the party... just make sure you have the cd playing so the kids can dance to it.

Let us know how the party turns out!

Definitely check out the Ty's Toybox party suppies http://www.dontpulltherope.com/doodlebop-merchandise.asp Also I'd see if anything is in stores for Halloween - you might be able to pull together a costume. Let me think, think, think and maybe I can come up with some ideas.

Hi 'MommyDoodle' and all,

I am doing the same sort of thing - my daughter turns 3 in October - she knows that around her 'Happy Birthday' she gets to see the Doodlebops.  It actually turns out they are in concert within a week of her birthday so I got tickets to TWO shows for her (four each).  But I'm having problems finding any other kids to go with her as most moms I know don't like the Doodlebops

Even so, she'll have a Doodlebop themed birthday party - it'll be tough to be the petting zoo and pony ride birthday party that we just went to though!  So if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it as well.

Take care!

Shirley (Emma's mom)

Hi MommyDoodle and all Doodle Lovers!

We're also getting ready for a Doodlebops Party for our soon-to-be 2 year old. Here are the ideas I have so far, other than the fabulous party supplies:

I found a Doodlebops Pinata, a pullstring type perfect for younger kids, at OrientalTrading.com for around $16.00. You can also find Doodlebops Mylar balloons here or at other party supply websites that you can bunch with solid colored balloons.

I Plan to create the Doodlebops sign and some music notes to stick up on the walls out of construction paper. I also plan to create flags for the Doodlebop Pledge. And you can even make a rope for your child to pull with confetti to come down, great if you have an outdoor balcony!

I have lots of Doodlebops shows recorded to play on our TV during the party and CD's to play outside.

Well, just thinking out loud here, can't wait to see other ideas as well! Love the rice crispy treats!!

Sara (and all),

These are all great ideas - I'm in the process of ordering the Doodlebops merchandise and I think I'm going to get a clown or magic entertainer to go with the decorations and music.  For me, I can't turn on the TV or my 3 year old will stop everything and just watch it

I definitely like the idea of the music notes and the confetti is a good one as well - I just have to think of where to have it and how I'll clean it all up!

Thanks again for the ideas and keep em coming.

Shirley

We just had a Doodlebops party this summer when my son turned 4.  We had the Doodlebops pinata, and instead of candy, I filled it with kazoos, the kids loved it!  I also made Doodlebops ice cream cups: I got small disposable containers and lids at the party store and filled them with three layers of ice cream each, strawberry, orange sherbert, and cotton candy ice cream (which was blue).  I ordered an edible image online and made a Doodlebops cake.  We also happen to have an orange drum set, a pink keyboard and a blue play guitar, so we set up a stage outside and the kids could pretend to be the Doodlebops, we had the cds playing throughout the party as well.  I also made a Doodlebops fruit salad, with only orange, blue and pink fruits.  And I had gotten all the party supplies from ty's as well, plates, cups, napkins, balloons, etc.  Everyone had a great time!  Good luck with your parties!

We are getting ready for my son's 2nd birthday in November. Since it is hard to get children under 2 to stay focused on one project at the same time I have decided to set up stations. We are going to have the Doodlebops playing on the television in the background and a coloring station with the Doodlebop coloring sheets you can download. We are also planning a Playdoh station..pink, blue, and orange..of course. We will have an outdoor station for t-shirt painting with star, guitar, and music note stamps made out of cut sponges. We will be playing Doodlebop music out there and if that wasn't enough we are renting a moonwalk...so the kids can bop to the Doodlebops. As for party favors, along with the t-shirts, the kids will be getting inflatable guitars, mini tambourines, and kazoos. Since the favors come in packs of a dozen I'm using the extra for decorations along with music notes and stars I cut out. I'm sorry I don't have but one idea for food..I love the rice crispy idea but I wanted to add you could always use regular rice crispies but use food coloring to dye some of them black then cut them out and place together to look like a keyboard (or you could use white chocolate and milk chocolate on top). Hope some of these ideas help.

Nelura,

Your idea for the rice crispy treats as keyboards was great. I also made some guitars shapes as well, they went over great. I don't know if anyone else is looking for Doodlebops party supplies but I looked for over an hour and I found the best deal on www.prettypartyplace.com. They had everything even our pinata for the lowest prices. I even found my food coloring for the party treats and my Doodlebops cake. Thanks everyone for your great party tips, I also used the idea for stations to keep the kids busy.
