Our wakeup call didn’t work today and we had to really rush to make it to Disneyland by opening. I would like to say thanks to the people who made so much noise picking up trash that they woke me up! J I forgot to mention yesterday that my back patch did it’s job the day before, and I remembered to put one on again today.
We made it to Disneyland at 8:40 and headed through the shops to get a jump on the crowd since we were not doing Indy. The photo shop doors were locked until just a few minutes before opening and when they opened we were NOT allowed to step out of the store. We heard the opening announcement and when the rope was dropped we were also allowed to go inside.
Yesterday we never used the Space Mountain fastpasses, so today went there first while the lines were still short. Alex liked it much better this time, and didn’t even scream through the whole ride. We followed that with the boys going on Star Tours. Because of my back, I only went on Star Tours for the first ride this trip. I never went on it again. Instead, the plan was for me to go get Indy fastpasses, and meet the boys for our 10:00 seating at Minnie and Friends. They ran a bit late because Star Tours had issues, but it was okay. What a wonderful meal we had. We were told to take a sign to Jedi Training when we do that because it will increase Alex’s chances of getting picked. Right then and there I made the sign.
There were a ton of characters here this morning. We saw Ghepetto, Eeyore, Captain Hook, Alice and Mad Hatter (together – it was great), Chip and Dale also together and Minnie. Max and Fairy Godmother were there but we didn’t stick around to see them.
Instead we headed for Tomorrowland Terrace to get the Jedi Training schedule. No need, they were getting ready for a show when we walked up. Alex was able to squeeze into the front row on the edge and proudly held up the sign I had made him. Once they came to pick the kids, Alex and the little girl next to him began jumping up and down and holding up their signs. They were both picked! Alex was thrilled. He got to fight Darth Vader and it was so cute. We got it all on video. It was here that we ran into the people from our first night. A little girl came running up and gave me a hug and it took a few seconds to realize who it was. She didn’t get picked. Instead her family got dreamed with fastpasses! Good for them!
What ride do you follow Jedi Training with? Well of course you ride Star Tours! While they did that I ran over to California Adventure for Soarin’ fastpasses. The return time was only a few minutes away so I was heading to Tower of Terror when I ran into Mary Poppins and Pluto. There was a photopass person at both locations, so I did get my picture taken. Tower only had a 13 minute wait so I didn’t worry about fastpasses.
Instead I met my boys at Indy where we rode and again Alex was tall enough (trust me, we worried about this the whole trip. It would have been horrible if he had measured too short once). We then rode the Columbia. That was my first time on the ship and I enjoyed looking around.
We got back to shore in time to see the next Billy Hill Show. We headed over there, grabbed seats and I got in line for Sundaes. We were early so the line was not long, but it sure moved slowly. We were all done by the time the show started. I had wanted to see them forever, so was happy to be there. Andy was taping, and about 5 minutes into the show Alex had to potty. We left Andy there, and didn’t get back until the show was almost over. I figured I would have to watch the tape.
Outside the Saloon the Laughingstock Company was doing a show and we stopped to watch. Andy was going to go back to the hotel for a few minutes but waited to watch. A few seconds later we were approached by Ben, a cast member who wanted to know if Alex would trade pins with him. He also asked if we liked shows like this (Laughingstock) and I told him we loved them and had just seen Billy, but I missed most of it. We got information on pin trading; Alex traded a Tink pin for a Stitch pin. Then, Ben pulled another Tink pin out of his bag of tricks and gave that to Alex as well. It was then that Ben told us who he really was. He was a dream team member, and was worried we would not want the dream since we had seen Billy until I said I missed most of the show. We were surprised as he dreamed us with front row seats for the next show of Billy. I was thrilled since I had just missed the show. The next show was only 25 minutes away, so the boys headed to the hotel, I did nothing for a few minutes and then went in to claim our seats. Ben was there and talked to me and the party next to me until the show started. At one point he wished he had a camera because the lady that I was talking to and I had basically given the most perfect Disneyland commercial, and none of it was planned.
The show was incredible from the front row. The Billy’s saw Andy taping and did a very funny special ‘skit’ standing in front of his camera and talking to him. I was so glad we were dreamed. It made my day to see the whole show, and was perfect from the front row! Thanks Ben for Dreaming us!
After the show, Andy and Alex went back to the hotel again. They only had 5 minutes there the last time, and Andy had to check in with work. I went to California Adventure to get Mulholland Madness fastpasses. After doing that I called Andy to let him know we could get another set very quickly. He told me to get Tower of Terror since we had Soarin’.
Next I headed to Off the Page with the sole intent of purchasing my clock. I did, and then I paid 27.00 to ship it home. Andy about died. He said we could have made room for it. (Turns out we really could have, but I didn’t know that at the time). My clock should arrive sometime next week, and I can’t wait!
When the boys came back from the hotel, they called me and I met them in the last A in California and we all headed back inside. We checked out Muppets and Alex absolutely loved this show. Next we headed over to use our Tower fastpasses.
Alex was very nervous, but was doing very good at riding everything at least once. We talked to a little girl who absolutely loved the ride, and I think that made him feel better. So many people scream on this ride that we could not tell if Alex was one of them. As the ride ended I asked him if he liked it. He said: No. I loved it! Yay. He wanted to do it again immediately. My motion sickness patch was not working real great this trip so I declined the second ride. Poor Alex. He was in line and had to go potty so they left the line. They never went back.
Instead we did Monster’s Inc, rode Mulholland Madness 3 times in a row and were there when California Adventure closed. The only fastpasses we had to use were the Soarin’ fastpasses. Everything else there was a very short wait.
At Disneyland I grabbed at sandwich at Blue Ribbon Bakery. It was 8 pm. They were made in the morning. I won’t do that again! We went to ToonTown and saw Mickey. I was still not feeling well from Tower so went to Tomorrowland to wait for them. Andy and Alex ended up riding Gadgets, Roger Rabbit, playing on Donald’s Boat and in Goofy’s Playground before heading to Tomorrowland.
Once we met up we all did Buzz. Then the boys did Star Tours and I rode Buzz two more times. I was going to ride it a third but Disneyland closed as I was walking out from my second ride.
Little Alex was quite tired and fell asleep on the way to the hotel.
Next UP: A busy day, lots of blisters, a trip to first aid and more!
