Once again we got no wakeup call but did wake up in time to get to Disneyland by 9:05. After my shower I did go to the front desk to complain about the wakeup calls, and that our alarm clock didn’t work.
On the way to Disneyland I called Disney Dining for Goofy’s Kitchen seating. Everything was full, so we decided to do Minnie again the next morning and schedule that.
Once we got into Disneyland, Andy broke off for Buzz Fastpass and we headed toward Fantasyland to check out Peter Pan. The line there was horrible so we did Alice, followed by the Tea Cups instead. It was then that I saw people with fastpasses, and was told to ride Snow White. So Alex and Andy rode Dumbo, and I rode Snow White. Unfortunately I saw two dream team members coming out when I went in. I had missed the fastpasses.
Next I went for Indy fastpasses while the boys rode Pinocchio. Indy was down so there were no fastpasses. We met at Haunted Mansion for a quick trip through doom and gloom. We then saw that Splash Mountain had no wait so got in the queue. I rode with Alex and he liked it this time! The big hill didn’t even scare him. Next we did Pooh and when we came out found that the characters would be out in 20 minutes so we got in line to wait. Little did we know that during slow season they stagger the characters with only one out at a time. We only got to see Eeyore.
The Hungry Bear was actually open, so we decided to eat lunch there. Andy and I had cheeseburgers while Alex had the best chicken nuggets at Disneyland. These were not the normal flat nuggets. They were made with big chicken pieces and fried differently. They tasted great! Our burgers were pretty good too. We got a strawberry funnel cake for dessert. Alex ate the whipped cream, I ate the rest (well – half of it before I got full).
We got on a raft for Tom Sawyer Island after lunch and ran into Jack Sparrow as he was leaving the island. We saw him up close, and he didn’t much look like Jack. We stopped to watch the Bootstrappers perform before Alex and I went off on our own so Andy could tape. We had a great time on the island. I was ready to go after a while though, so when Andy was done the two boys stayed and I went back to Critter Country.
When Alex was done we all went to Indy for another ride. By this time even Alex was looking at the eyes of Mara. He really loved this ride, but it sure seemed like he hid his head for most of it each time.
Alex had been driving us nuts to go to the Lego store, so he and Andy did that while I went to World of Disney. I was very disappointed not to find Pez for one board member or Color Changing Mickey Ice Cubes for myself and another board member. It was here that they told me they used to have them, but were sold out. I picked out a new set of pens, two sets of key chains and a scrap book set. I didn’t buy much here.
Next I went to Marcelines, were there were no Pez to be found there either. I got my standard 6 pack of fudge and headed back to the hotel.
We stayed at the hotel about an hour while Alex played with his Legos. Then we went to California Adventure. We rode Tower of Terror again, and Alex wanted to see Muppets again. It was while we walked toward Muppets when the serious pain began on my left foot. I could barely walk, and had no clue as to what the problem was. Andy was off filming Turtle Talk, the animation building and more while we did Muppets. While sitting on the floor to wait for Muppets I pulled off a croc and realized that my toes were also swollen and blisters had developed between each of the toes! No wonder it hurt to walk.
The three of us met up after Muppets and did Soarin, then headed to White Water Snacks for Dinner. It was 6:30 and they closed at 7, so we ate quickly then made fast tracks to Disneyland to see if we could catch the Parade of Dreams. Since it started at Small World we got lucky and found a spot facing City Hall. Alex didn’t want to get out of the stroller for the parade, so I found a spot where he could see. After the parade got to us, a family came and stood right in front of us. They looked down at Alex trying to see past them but stayed there. The lady next to me asked in a low voice ‘why are some people so rude. There child must be more important than mine.’ We know they heard, yet they still didn’t move. Alex missed the whole parade. Andy did get it on tape though, so he can watch it.
As we headed toward Tomorrowland we stopped in Disneyana. I showed Andy the Big Fig I want. It is so beautiful. On the way home he told me why I could not have the Sleeping Beauty Castle I want so badly. Another trip to Disneyland is more important to me than a big fig!
We decided to watch Honey I Shrunk the Audience since Alex loved the other 3-D offerings. This one had incredible 3-D, but several parts that were very scary. None of us liked it much, and it scared Alex horribly. Bring back Captain EO or put in Mickey’s Philharmagic. It is time to get rid of this show.
Next we did Buzz and the boys then headed to Star Tours. A few minutes later Andy called me and told me to get back to the stroller. Alex was sick. He was doubled over in pain. We thought maybe it was the hot dog he had for dinner, but were not sure. A few minutes later he said he was okay so they tried again, and again never made it to the ride. Alex ended up on the ground doubled over in pain and Andy had to carry him back to the stroller. He also complained of a headache.
We went to first aid where the doctor told us it was probably overexcitement. Yeah, right. He did give us some children’s Tylenol, very small band aids for my blisters, and a list of local hospitals just in case. He told us not to give Alex the Tylenol for an hour in case he threw up. He never did. We stopped at Blue Ribbon for Apple Juice for Alex and he just wanted to go back to the hotel. It was 8pm. I waited in line to get his juice then headed back. It was the only night we didn’t close Disneyland, and neither Andy nor I were upset. Our little guys was sick and we had no clue what was wrong. We thought maybe constipation – hence the apple sauce, or food poisoning. He was asleep by 9:30.
I had purchased a little clock (Tinker Bell) to use just in case the wakeup call didn’t work again and we had an early breakfast.
Stay tuned for our last day: Was Alex still sick? Did we enjoy Minnie and Friends and more.

May All Your Days Be Filled With Magic! And your nights full of Disney Dreams!
