| I was wondering if any of you had ever purchased a Disney Dining Plan? We are (finally) going in August and I wanted to get the Donald 3 Day Plan for $93/adult. I've heard that it really isn't a "deal" but I figured it would pay for itself because we are doing the Minnie and Friends Breakfast and for 3 adults it would be $100! And that's only one meal!  Any thoughts on the dining plans would be helpful, thanks!

| I did it once a loooonng time ago, like in 2002. I don't remember the price or anything like that, I do know we had to pay a little extra for Goofy's Kitchen as the credits we had didn't cover it. That and I ended up with a lot of left over snack credits. I'm sure things have changed since then though and hopefully someone with better advice will pop on and answer you properly! LOL
Oh, I think I remembered it being worth it though, even with losing out on the snack credits.

| | i too, am thinking about a dining plan for 4 days. I know we wanted to do 2 character dinners, and one breakfast, and thought it would be kind of nice to take care of all the food I can before we go. |

| | We like to pre-pay and we've looked into them several times. Everytime we decide not to. It always is about break even and since it includes breakfast and we rarely sit down for a breakfast it just never seems worth it. Instead we budget out our meals (~$100/day for the 3 of us) and we pre-buy Disney Gift cards. Andy

| I don't think we will lose out on the snack ones... we are a family that loves to snack! I just feel like pre-paying for our meals will keep us on a better "budget".

| We enjoyed having the plan at Disney World but haven't used it at Disneyland. But the gift card idea is good too....it's still paid for before you go!

| | Be careful with the meal plans... I decided not to after learning that there is no change given if you do not use the full amount. For example, if you buy a $7.00 popcorn and you a $10 snack voucher to pay for it, you do not get the $3 change. |

| | Yes - it is important to know about the no change given - thanks for pointing that out Heather! Also - Costco is more expensive than AAA if you have both. If you are staying at one of the 3 Disney Hotels the cost will be the same, and the free breakfast and gift card are still there, then book Costco - if not at one of those 3 hotels, book AAA.
