Friday, Sept 5^th

So, the day started like a normal Friday. We all got ready for school and work and took off. Kyan and I got home around noon and I started cleaning and last minute packing. Around 2pm I spoke with Troy and he was on his way home and I debated whether to go and pull Trey from class earlier. I didn’t because the last minute errands I needed to run took longer and you have to get there early at his school to back into a parking space since it is mad chaos when the bell rings. Trey is one of the first ones out of the building at 3:05 and he looks at me and smiles and says, “We’re off to Nashville?!?! Right?” I tell him, “Yes, dad is a home waiting on us.”

When we get there at the house I am starting to get nervous about their reaction and Troy decides to tell them now. So we sit them down to watch a video. It is the first part of the “Disneyland Fun Sing-A-Long” Half way through the song “ Main Street USA” it stops and a video we made of Troy and myself appear. We tell the kids about some of our favorite times at Disney World and we explain that something came up and that we would not be going to Nashville” Then a big pause. At this time Trey was happy because he didn’t want to go just shopping. However, Kyan was so sad.

Then the video speaks up and announces that instead we are going to Disney World!! They just look at us and don’t believe us. Most kids would be jumping up and down screaming but ours just sat there shaking their heads no. They did believe us until I showed them the tags and paperwork then they started jumping and screaming.

By 4pm we are finally loaded into the van and we take off to Indy to go check into our hotel for the night and to prepare ourselves for an early morning flight. We drive to Indy about 2 ½ hours away and we stop and eat supper at Cracker Barrel. After dinner we locate our hotel the Radisson Hotel next to the airport. Upon checking in the kids had to tell the receptionist how they were going to Disney World and it was a big surprise and how we lied to them and said we was going to Nashville. Then a flight crew came down to check out and they had to tell them how their parents lied to them. Do you see a theme coming? The flight crew was great and told the kids to have a nice trip and told them about flying and how they was off to Dallas but wished to be going to Disney World instead. So once we have our room key in hand and told her my wake-up call needed to be at 3:30am we went off to find our room. We was on the top floor and was very impressed with the room. The beds had to be the best beds I ever slept on. They where called “Smart Beds” and you could select the firmness or softness of the beds. The kids loved playing with that. And I do have to brag on the towels in the bathroom being so soft and big which was a nice change. The room and the parking for the week was only $105 making the nights stay only end up being $25-30 since the parking at the airport was in the $60-75 range for the week
