Great guess.  Ok--- this man was also one of the first American's to visit China after relations were re-opened...  He also has a library in Orange County.

Yes this man would become president, but not JFK. At the time, he was the vice president of the USA (in 1959), and was also thinking about running for president against JFK.

The Disney lore with this story is pretty interesting and amusing. Before opening the monorail, Walt gave his guest and their family a tour of the monorail. Walt asked one of the engineers if they could take it for a spin. Walt and his guest were on the trian for one ride, but the secret service was not on the train (they were actually running alongside the train at the platform). Apparently the the daughters of the family wanted to do another ride on he monorail, so they pulled on through the station and just kept going. The secret service was not so amused and (jokingly I guess) could have charged Walt withkidnapping the vice-president...

Very good Mynde.  It was Vice President Nixon.  In this short youtube video, you can see Nixon's daughters trying to cut the ribbon, with Richard in the background.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otFofK7hc5k

That was funny that they couldn't cut the ribbon!  Ha!

I was listening to a PodCast yesterday and they had a bit of info on The Tiki Room.  Now I haven't even been in it and it's been popping up on everything lately for me.  Must be a sign that I need to go back and go in!!!   It was originally slated to be a restaurant.  People would get their food, sit down and enjoy the show.  They thought they'd rush people to eat and get out for the next group.  In the end they decided this was not a great idea and decided to just make it be the show.

Also, Pleasure Island is not named that after Pinnochio (like I thought)...but after an Adventurer...Mr. Pleasure and his family.  It was interesting to hear the stories behind all the older shops and restaurants on the Island.  You can go to www.wdwradio.com and listen to his casts (it was the October 16th-ish one).

Ok, new question....What is the name of the tunnels under Disney World?

I know this and actually have been in them twice (once on a tour, once with my sister). I remember seeing Mickey without a head on. Not allowed to take any photos though. I will let others guess.
