I know some of our website visitors have been on a Disney Cruise (yes you!).  We would love to have a trip report from you.  Tell us all about your trip.

The best trips I have ever taken were on the Disney Cruise. For my honeymoon '02 my husband and I did the land and sea and while on the ship we booked a 7 day for our 1yr anniversary '03. It was awesome. We have since had two children but plan on going back aboard in 2008 when the kids are older. If you are thinking about going GO GO GO, you won't regret it.

I would love to go on a cruise in the next year or two.  I was wondering if they are kid friendly as well.  I want to take my 12 and 6 year old, dont want them to be bored and whiney and would like some time to myself for one day.  Any info on this would help, I have tried different sites and just need a professional cruiser opinion

We usually take a cruise every year. We haven't taken my 4 year old yet, but cruises are definitely kid friendly, once the child is school age. There are some cruiselines (Disney, Carnival, Royal Carribean) with excellent kids programs...they have a blast, and the parents still get some adult vacation time.

I would definitely do a cruise! Talk about total relaxation!!!!

What other kind of questions about cruises can I answer for you?

Charlene,

Our original plan for 2007 was to do the Disney Cruise.  It will be our 20th anniversary, and we want it to be special, but also fun for Alex who will be 4.5 years old.

Because of this, I have done a TON of research on the Disney cruises, and I must say, you can't go wrong with one of them.  They have several options, from a combined Cruise, Disneyworld trip, to a 7 day Cruise.  If I had 2 weeks, I would do the weeklong Cruise, and then 7 nights at Walt Disney World to complete the vacation.  Stop by a travel agent and pick up the cruise brochure and you will see what I mean.  There is also a Disney Cruise Book, done by the unofficial guide which is also wonderful.  You can also go to the Disney site and have them send you their cruise DVD and brocure.  If that doesn't sell you, nothing will. lol

So, you may wonder why we decided against a cruise?  One reason, and only one.  Alex will not yet be 5.  Because of this, he is limited on the things he can do.  With the Disney cruise, they have an incredible children's program.  If you so desired, you could tuck your kids into the programs, and have all day to yourself!  There is even one overnight program for the kids, but they have to be at least 5.  And THIS is why we decided to wait.  So, the plan is to still do a cruise.  It will probably be for Alex's kindergarten graduation though.

And since I thoroughly believe in the Disney product, I will definitely stick with Disney for my cruise.

Hi there!  I am new here but I wanted to chime in about Disney cruises.  I've taken many cruises with Holland America, Carnival, Princess and Disney was by FAR the best.

We did the 14 day Easternbound Panama Canal cruise from Los Angeles to Port Canaveral, Florida and it was awesome!  We took my little sister and my 1 year old and everyone had a great time.  There is excellent nusery for small children to play in and be watched, for just $6 per hour and they give you a pager so you can leave your child and do something adult and rest assured he or she is well-taken care of.  There were 3 different restaurants that you go to, a different one each night, but the cool thing is your waiters follow you there so you always get the same, excellent service by people who know what you like.  For example, we wanted an apple juice and milk and cut-up fruit for our son when we got to the table...and it was there every single time we sat down without fail.

The entertainment was WAY ABOVE what other cruiselines offered.  Their stage shows were like major Broadway productions and made other cruise entertainment look like acting/dancing school.

My little sister took advantage of their Oceaneer's Lab and they had her hopping with activiites all day.  If her stay coincided with lunch or dinner they took them all out to eat at the buffet, so no children were ever starving...and both kids got a graduation cap, certificate and thank you book at the end of our cruise!

Since our cruise was special we had Roy Disney and the President of Disney cruises staying a few doors away from our room.  Roy Disney dined in the same restaurant with us and our waiters helped us try to get autographs from them, which was I thought above and beyond what was really expected of them.

Anyway, I would recommend Disney cruiselines to ANYONE, with children or not...but especially WITH.  Other cruiselines offer babysitting but they have someone stay in your stateroom alone with your child.  I know I wouldn't feel comfortable with this situation, for several different reasons.  Disney makes it easy so parents never have to worry...its wonderful!  We are planning to go again very soon!  It was worth every penny!

Wow!  Thanks for that post!  We've thought about it off and on but avoided it since Morgan's so young.  We didn't really want day-care kind of activities, we want to spend our time WITH her.  It's so nice to know that you took a 1 year old on the Disney cruise!  What was your 1 year old's experience and reaction like?  More on that please!  I'd love to read every detail you can give!
