To continue with my story (no correcting me, ButMadNNW, this is my story!)

So Sunday we headed down for breakfast at the coffee shop in the Paradise Pier Hotel. It's a nice little stop where you can get coffees and pastries, as well as fruit and cereal. They also have plenty of seating and a big screen TV. They serve sandwiches for lunch; it's a nice place for when you're on the go.

My son and I spent the morning with my parents and my sister. We went to DCA again. My dad wanted to take my son to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. I ran around with them part of the time; I enjoy the rope bridges because they are fun to climb and a good cardio workout.

Then we went over to Mulholland Madness. I'm not that crazy about that ride because it's pretty jerky, but my son likes it. Then we went and rode the Orange Stinger again.

We ate lunch at the Pacific Wharf Cafe, right next to the Boudin Bakery. It's one of my favorite eateries at DCA. I love their bread bowls! It was a pleasant day out so instead of having soup, I had one of the salads. I also had to buy a round to take home; the bread is so irresistable!

My sister's friends found us, but my parents had to leave. So we bid them a fond farewell and then went off to tour the Boudin Bakery again and the Mission Tortilla Factory. My sister receiving a package of fresh tortillas; they hand out packages when someone is having a birthday. Then I took my son over to Bug's Land while my sister and her friends headed over to California Screamin'. My son and I rode the Tuck and Roll ride, the Francis ride, and as we came off that ride, we ran into my sister and her friends. We said goodbye to her friends and then my sister, my son, and I went on Flik's Flyers. Then we headed out of the park and went to Downtown Disney. We stopped at the Haagen Dazs shop for a respite. And then we went back to the hotel to get our car and leave. It was hard to leave the Resort that day because it was such a beautiful day out and I would've liked to spent more time at DL with my son. Also, the hotel offered us a discounted rate of $99 if we wanted to stay an extra night. But my son had school.

BTW, here is my review of the Haunted Mansion:

We entered into the mansion and first off I noticed that they didn't seem to line the paintings right in the portrait gallery because I heard that noise like what pull down shades sound like and it seemed like they didn't roll out straight. In fact, out of the many times I've ridden this ride, I never noticed that the paintings were on rollers!

Then we get into the doom buggy and everything seemed fine until we got to the dining hall. They didn't place the plates correctly on the table and they forgot to include the hidden Mickey. I also forgot, they didn't have the crystal ball in the seance (sp?) room floating around like it used to.

Also last summer when we rode the ride, we noticed that they had changed the attic. The bride was animated and it was pretty cool! I didn't get to ride it again before they transformed it for the holidays, but I was looking forward to seeing the room again this trip. Well, the bride didn't look right and the animation looked funny, like it was off. I'm not that technologically inclined so I'm not sure how to explain it, but her face seemed mis-lined or something. Anyway, it was a little disappointing because it seemed like they slapped the ride back together and didn't play attention to the subtle details that they had set up before. That is my two cents about the ride.

Gee, my trip must've felt longer than two days; I mistyped and put "Week" instead of "Weekend"!  LOL

To continue with my story (no correcting me, ButMadNNW, this is my story!)

*zips lips* Mmmn hmmnfd mmmm! *hides under the furniture*

*reads*

*pokes head out from under a nearby chair* Can I comment/add? Or is only "correcting" verboten?

the bread is so irresistable!

...if you like sourdough.

My sister receiving a package of fresh tortillas; they hand out packages when someone is having a birthday.

YUM!

my sister and her friends headed over to California Screamin'.

Which you should ride if you can get there before April 26, while "Rockin' Both Parks" is ongoing - the new music with the Red Hot Chili Peppers is pretty cool! I still need to hit Space Mountain to hear the new music there.

as we came off that ride, we ran into my sister and her friends.

Nephew tackled me. I believe I shrieked.

It was hard to leave the Resort that day because it was such a beautiful day out and I would've liked to spent more time at DL

*nods*

I never noticed that the paintings were on rollers!

LOL! I still can't believe you never noticed.

And yup, something is off with the Black Widow Bride in the attic...

Lol!!!!  You guys are so funny together here!  That's an added bonus!!!  Thanks, I loved your review of everything.

Haunted Mansion is my favorite and we always ride that a zillion times...every day that I can get away with it.  I've not seen the crystal ball floating - isn't it just her head in it with trumpet/other musical instruments floating?  There's a hidden Mickey in the dinning hall???  Where???????

Thanks so much for the great report.

What is up with the HM?  The bride scene is my favorite.  I hope they have that fixed before May!  As for Leota and the floating Crystal Ball, didn't they make that change last year when they did the attic, so she no longer floats?  I can't remember for sure though.

Okay, so you had to leave during good weather.  That just means you will have to go back again!  A $99 rate is a great one, hopefully you will be able to do that again.

TTSis, hope you don't mind me answering:

Shawna (1/24/2007)
I've not seen the crystal ball floating - isn't it just her head in it with trumpet/other musical instruments floating?

They revamped the HM last year - made the paintings in the foyer flash with the lightning instead of fading in and out; Leota's crystal ball floated around the room with the instruments; etc. Now, her head/ball is no longer floating. It's very sad. They stopped it floating during HM Holiday, but then didn't put it back.

There's a hidden Mickey in the dinning hall???  Where???????

One of the place settings on the table has a special arrangement.

I haven't seen the Haunted Mansion in about 4 years in regular form - I'm so excited for our trip next month!!!  I haven't seen any of those changes.  That should be interesting - and I've never noticed Mickey!!!  Now I'll be watching!

Thanks ladies!!!
