| | First I will give a little background on my family. I have two son's Nate who is 5 1/2 and Jaden who is 3. Nate has autism. My husband Tim and myself Heather. We also took my parents with us and my mother was just as excited as the boys were. We left early for the airport and had a great non-stop flight to LAX. The boys were terrific on the flight. We got to LAX and got our luggage and went outside to wait for the Disneyland Express. If anyone can take anything away from our trip, don't use Grayline if you don't have to. We were outside at about 9:40 am and the bus was suppose to be there at 10:00. 10:05 came then 10:15. We called Grayline and they said it would be there shortly. The next bus was suppose to be at 10:30. 10:30 came and went and finally at 10:40 a bus showed up, but said that he wouldn't be able to take everyone and who was going to the DLH. We quickly said we were and got loaded up. So about 12:00 we pulled into the hotel. Everything went smooth checking in and we were upgraded to a Downtown Disney view. We went into DL for lunch and stood in line forever for hamburgers in Tomorrowland. We then got fastpasses for Autopia. We got on and still had to wait for 15 minutes. I still don't think I have recovered from the whiplash. We then went to Buzz. It was a 20 minute wait, but the line moved quickly. We got into the ride and this is where we discovered that Jaden is now terrified of everything. He took one look at the big Buzz that talks and started screaming. I told him we couldn't get off until we got to the front thinking that once we were by it he would be fine. Wrong. I finally had to take him out the emergency exit. We then went back to the hotel for a rest and then it was in to DCA to catch the Block Party Bash. We sat down and Jaden promptly fell asleep. The parade finally made it up to us and Nate decided he wanted nothing to do with it. So we sat through the rest of it and then went to get something to eat. By this time it was getting cold and starting to rain. We really wanted to see the Electric Light parade, but the boys just couldn't make it. We were back to the hotel. We were all asleep by 9:30 pm. Apparently even with the travel agent convention, DL still did the fireworks. I found this out the next morning from my husband. My mom had seen then and came through the ajoining door not knowing that we were all asleep. My husband was the only one to hear her. | | Wow Heather - thanks for getting your report up so quickly! I am surprised you had the problems with the Disneyland Express. We have never had those issues before! I sure hope it was just a glitch on that day. Poor Jaden - and poor you! That must have been horrible to see him scared of everything. I have not read day two yet, I am hoping it was just because he was tired. I am sorry Nate didn't enjoy Block Party Bash too. I sure hope you got to do the Electric Parade later in your trip! Leanne
