| Day 3 Monday May 21st Today our faithful alarm clock (Payton) woke us up early again! I got ready first and headed over to the Candy Cane Inn’s continental breakfast to bring food back for all my boys! They offered a wide variety of danishes, bagels, toast, cereal, croissants, muffins and fresh fruit. We ate in the room and hurried up and finished getting ready so we could meet Grandma & Grandpa and head out. We met Grandma & Grandpa by the pool and immediately got on the shuttle to DL. We arrived at DL at about 8:45, so we only had to stand in line for 15 minutes before it opened. First stop was the stroller rental booth for a stroller and an autograph book for Charlie. We headed right over to Fantasyland; I figured this would be a good place to get the kids used to rides. We rode on Peter Pan, Mr. Toads, Dumbo, Casey Jr. Pinocchio, Small World and The Matterhorn all before 11:30AM. The lines were awesome; I don’t think we stood in a line over 15 minutes our whole trip. Both the kids liked these rides, but Charlie could have done without Pinocchio. Payton really liked Dumbo, he’s at such a cute age where he copies everything you say, the whole time in line he pointed and said “Dumbo.” We decided to eat at the Carnation Café for lunch. The kids each had a Painters Palate and I had the steak sandwich and a cup of baked potato soup. I needed the soup to warm up because it was freezing. It was in the high 60’s. We chatted with Chef Oscar, he’s such a nice guy. He was really nice to the kids, he gave them cute little paper chef hats. After lunch we headed across Main Street to buy sweatshirts because we were all cold. I got a cool grey sweatshirt that says “Pirate Princess.” Charlie got a Pluto sweatshirt and Payton got a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt. Chuck didn’t get one because he couldn’t find one he liked. Our next stop was the Tiki room. Payton only lasted maybe 5 minutes in the Tiki room before he fell asleep. After the show was over we transported Payton back to the stroller and headed back to the hotel for naps. While the boys napped I snuck over to the Jacuzzi and defrosted! I couldn’t seem to get warm. All the times I’ve been to DL I don’t think it’s ever been cold like that. After everybody woke up we headed back over to DL. The first ride was the Jungle cruise. Charlie was so excited to be seeing all the different sights from the movies he’s been watching (A day at Disneyland & Disney Sing Along). Next we visited The Haunted Mansion, Charlie was in tears before we even got in the building. We made him get on it anyway, he looked at the whole thing threw his fingertips. But in the end he liked it. I asked him if he wanted to go again and he said, No Way! Next we got on the Winnie the Pooh ride which Payton loved. His favorite part was the birthday party with all the balloons. Finally it was time to ride Pirates of the Caribbean (one of my favorites). We walked right onto it, three times in a row! Payton liked to sing along “Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho.” He also liked to bark at the dogs and meow at the cats and of course wave at the pirates. By this time we were starving again. Can you tell our family loves to eat! So we headed over to DTD and ate on the patio at Tortilla Joe’s. The food was good, but I’ve had better. Then it was back to the room to get some rest. | | Wendi - isn't it amazing to see the kids on their first rides. Dumbo of course is a huge hit for the young ones, but Alex refused to ride it forever. Finally in December we got him on it, and now he loves it. Silly Goose. Alex loves the Haunted Mansion! Strange boy. Hates roller coasters, but loves Haunted Mansion, Star Tours and Mullholand Madness. Hmmm... Carnation Cafe - love that place. It was a real shock last trip that Oscar never came out to our table! That was the first time he did not visit us and I was disappointed! Tortilla Joe's - I feel the same way. Okay, but I have had MUCH better. Not a place I would recommend to people. 60 degrees and cold? Hmmmm- I wear shorts on days like that here! But, I must confess, 60 in California does feel colder to me that it does here! And I can relate, since in December I could not get warm to save my life at Disneyland!

| ooo! it was 60 degrees when you went? did it get warmer in the middle of the day, or did i pretty much stay that cool? i'll be there in 9 days, and i'm not sure what to pack, and i'm from hawaii, so there's no way i'll be able to survive in 60 degrees in shorts up there!! |

| | Daisy - do a google search on weather zip code 92802. Then choose one with a 10 day forecast and bookmark it. Keep checking it. But be warned. I do that before every trip, and the temps DID change. When we got there the forecast was updated. Also, this time of year, you will usually find temps in the 70's to 80's at Disneyland, but I swear the past 2 years the weather there has been nuts!

| | thanks tink! i've been going to the disney webpage and checking there, but you can only check up to 3 days from now, or something, so not much help there! my dh's from LA, so he's telling me it'll be hot during the day, and cool at night. thing is, we're going to spend a week up in the mountains (cabin/camping trip) before we go, so i'm totally at a lost on what to pack, but i'll definately google the zip code so i'll be prepared for disneyland, at least! |

| | It warmed up by Wed. or Thursday. We actually got tans! But we needed sweatshirts in the evenings. I've usually gone to Disneyland in the middle of summer, so it was nice for a change not sweating my butt off. |
