| | So how many have read the Harry Potter books? I had them all purchased, but never read them. I instead enjoyed the movies. Once Book 7 came out, and I heard there would be deaths, I decided to read them, knowing there was no way I could avoid hearing the results of the books. So, while laying on a heating pad for my back and my hip, I spent the week reading all of the Harry Potter books. Frankly, I can't believe I got them all read in a week, but I did. The books are for kids, but Rowling tells an incredible story. The final book puts everything together beautifully. If you have not read them, I recommend you do. If you have - I would love to know how you feel about them. I joined the bandwagon so badly I even bought Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans at Target. And let me tell you - they are EVERY flavor. Andy was not liking it when he bit into the vomit flavored bean. lol So, if you are a potter fan, lets discuss it! Leanne

| | Love the books have been reading them since about 2000 which meant waiting for the next book to come out was a long wait, at least you have them all to read. I finished the last one in the weekend it was released thanks to my lovely husband who watched Cullen pretty much all weekend so I could read. Was very pleased with it. I am now re-reading at a slower pace in case I missed anything important while I was reading so fast. Kirsten |

| | I might reread them slower too. I read them so fast so I would not hear about book 7 before I read it. And last night, we watched the first movie again. Knowing how the series ends makes it interesting to watch. lol I do know Andy finished book 7 last night but have not talked to him about it. I do have this question for you: Why didn't she give us info on Prof. McGonigal or Draco? Sure, he had a child, but had he turned 'good'. I would totally love it if she would put out a book giving more info on what happened to all the characters we know and love. And how many of you, like me, thought Harry would be the new Dark Arts teacher? Leanne

I bet there will be other books that come out still. Maybe just not written by JKR. Just like my favorite Star Wars movies/books, they have other associated books that have come out written by other people. In these books, they could explain what happened in that 19 year gap.

| | Definitely read the books Mynde. They are much better than the movies - and I love the movies! Rob - I have also heard that someone else may put out a book on the intervening 19 years. Problem is, I think a book written by anyone but JKR will not do it justice. I hope she is seeing all the questions everyone is asking, and decides to do it. I am one who just saw the movies until the 7th book came out. I have NEVER become so interested in reading a series so quickly. To read all 7 books in a week, while taking care of Alex says a lot. I really want to see the new movie in the theater, but fear I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD. Yes, I am a HP fan. Never thought ANYTHING could make me forget about Disney, but that sure did it. I feel like I am cheating on Disney now, because I want so much more from these books. Like others who read them, I feel like these characters are friends. It was very hard to say goodbye. We shouldn't have to. JKR knows them well. She can share more with us - and she knows we would all clamor to buy any new HP book she deemed to write. We can only hope. Leanne

| In the Meredith Viera interview on NBC, JKR talked about writing another book and talking about the intervening years, and also giving the back story on some of the characters Harry has encountered on the way (like some of the Order of the Phoenix, etc.). Not for awhile though...but it was positive.
And...you'll have Harry Potter theme park world at Universal to look forward to....
DH got me the book as a surprise from Amazon. Got it at 2PM Saturday...finished by 5PM Sunday. I need to go back and read them all over again. The next weekend we saw HP and Order/Phoenix at the movies in 3D-IMAX. I thought it was good - and it's interesting seeing some of the action now I know how it ends up.

| Sorry to take so long replying - we have been out of town!
We did NOT take Miss G to see the movie. It's pretty dark and parts are kind of scary - even for me
We're waiting until she is 7 or 8 to start the books...and we'll see where it goes from there. She hasn't shown much interest except to note
that Mommy likes it.
Don't need her to grow up too fast..
