| | Cabbage Patch dolls, Tickle-Me-Elmo, you know, the toy that every crazy parent will fight over. What is this Christmas's big must have toy? For boys up here, Bakugan http://www.bakugan.com/ is HUGE. Really hard to find the little suckers.
The Nintendo Wii is still #1 from what I can see, but since I have one, I don't care Bumblebee (Transformers) is tough to find....but not impossible. Not sure what the big thing is for girls.....my daughter wants pretty much anything that is pink...... Also, apparently all the recalls are affecting sales too. Parents are really being leary about buying the Made in China stuff.....

| | I'm not sure what all is big this year. Except for the Nintendo Wii. The Playstation 3 seems to be pretty popular too. My son wants Legos- the Mars Mission set. Lisa

| | We was able to find 2 Bumblebees for my son and cousin for Christmas. For boys definately Transformers seems to be in and all the new cars from the movie Cars. Seems like the airplane is the hardest to find. As for girls I thought the Hannah Montana dolls was going to be it but they are keeping them stocked well. We bought one for my daughter back in Sept. I still can't believe how popular the Wii's are still. Also Toys R Us sent me an email that they will gladly take back any recalled toy even if it wasn't purchased at Toys R Us. That is impressive to me.

| Man, it's a good thing my neices and nephew are still too young to really want the popular toy! LOL Yeah, the Wii's seem to be the hardest to keep on the shelves, although our Sam's Club has a ton of them. I can totally see where Transformers are the big toy for boys this year, I wouldn't mind seeing one to see how it compares to the ones we had when we were kids! LOL

| 34Angels (11/28/2007) I can totally see where Transformers are the big toy for boys this year, I wouldn't mind seeing one to see how it compares to the ones we had when we were kids! LOLNow I know when we think "back in the day" we always remember things being better than they were, but in this case, I really have to say the new Transformers pale in comparison. If I recall, the older ones had way more metal in them. The new ones really seem to be made of cheap plastic.

| | When we were young the transformers were metal. I have a few left from back then (I was a total Tomboy...cars, transformers, slingshots, you name it...but I did still have Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids). The Transformers now are terrible!!! They all have removable limbs (probably to prevent total breakage) which come off EVERY time Joshua tries to transform one! He did get one metal one (which still has removable limbs and head as the joints are all still plastic) but it was $25!!! Grandma bought it. Now that it's closer to Christmas the shelves are finally stocked with them. We had to look far and wide to find ANY let alone the main characters during the summer when J was all about them (I practically screamed when I found Optimus Prime hidden among girl toys-why I decided to walk down that aisle to begin with is beyond me)....and there were never ever any Autobots. Anyway! Now they are stocked pretty good...we found Bumblebee a few times...but we didn't get any for Joshua for Christmas. He still likes them but he just can not transform them. So when he plays with them...guess who has to transform them...every two seconds...of course, me. I'm sure with all the other cool stuff he's getting he won't even notice he didn't get any...I can hope anyway. I hate transforming them...they come apart and don't really turn easily etc. In fact, the ones we have can't be totally transformed cause they are all missing a limb, or a cannon, or a head! I think the Wii is the big thing this year. We were able to find one back in September but haven't seen any since. Joshua has been asking for a Wii lately...I'm afraid he's going to be disappointed when he sees his sister is getting it! Or maybe he'll be happy she got it...At least he'll be able to play with it too!

| | I've only seen the Wii's at Sam's Club maybe 2 or 3 times this year. I can't remember seeing them on the shelf anywhere. I got mine by arriving at a Target 2 hours before it opened. It's hard to believe that even after 1 year, this thing is so popular. But I have heard that the PS3 is selling much better now that the price is $399 (albeit for a smaller hard drive). I personally play my portable gaming devices more than anything else (ie I can take them with me when I travel). I really like the games Diner Dash and Touchmasters on the DS. Actually Isabel and I really enjoyed playing Diner Dash against each other... I've noticed a lot of DS's sold this year too. You can get them, but you might find a particular color harder to get (black seems to be very popular here). |

| | I just can't believe how expensive the PS3 are. My cousin paid $500 for his. That is crazy! We still have just a PS2 in the den and the Playstation 1 is now in Trey's room but we don't have many games for it. We also have a Gameboy Advanced that my husband found on the street but our old house. And it actually works all we had to buy was the accessory pack. I am considering getting my hubby a Wii for his birthday in May. I think it looks fun. The bowling games looks like a hoot. Although I will probably never be able to find one.

| My sister and her hubby actually have an extra Wii if anyone wants it, all they're asking for is the price they paid and then shipping. But I'm tellin' ya, for some reason the Sam's Club here has a lot of them! I had a customer ask me if I knew where any where and I said Sam's Club. He said he didn't have a membership and I told him to find a friend to take him in and get it for him! LOL We love our Wii, we got ours by finding out what day the shipment came in and were at Wal-Mart at 5 am to get it. Surprisingly no one was in there to get one but us! And I do love my DS! I bought my friend's off of her after she had it for less than two months. They came out with the pink ones so I bought her white one off her so she coudl get the pink one. We're thinking about getting Jake one so we can play against each other but have other things we need first. My sister liked my DS so much that her hubby bought her one for Christmas last year, we usually play Mario Kart against each other (my sister whoops all of us at it!).
Everyone I know that plays the Wii wants one.....although the most of the games Jake wants are on the PS3 and the XBox 360........we soooo don't need 3 game systems in the house!
