| Leanne, I just saw in a post that you are going to see ST when you get back. I'm going on Friday. Everyone I know (besides the two I'm going with) say I'm weird for wanting to see it! I have LOVED this musical (morbid, I know) forever and have been jumping with excitement to see the movie ever since I heard they were thinking of making it! Let me know if you like it!!!! Have your heard/seen the Broadway version?!

| I saw the Angela Lansbury stage production of this story when I was in high school. I LOVED it!! I was excited to see Johnny Depp and Tim Burton teamed up for the movie, but was a bit worried it might stray too much from the stage show. It didn't. It was fabulous!! I had read reviews that it was a bit on the bloody side, but it wasn't OTT at all. I saw it opening night in the theatres, and while I think I was with an audience who may not have known the storyline heading into the movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it. (they didn't laugh at the funny parts, and there are quite a few) I highly recommend it to anyone who likes musicals. But put your listening ears on because a lot of the storyline is in the music. Johnny Depp does a great job, and Helena Bonham Carter was perfectly cast as Mrs. Lovett. Toby was a dream, and Anthony had a wonderful voice. Go see it!!!!

| I loved it too. But I wish it had more singing! The original is all singing with hardly no dialogue. But it was still good. The dark (black and white-ish) costumes etc was in such contrast to the bright red blood. It was a very visual movie. I really liked it. I used to hate Johnny Depp but am starting to really like him. I love all his roles lately and I can't picture anyone but him playing them! The only part that bothered me in the movie was when the people would fall through the floor. Yuck! Made me shutter every time! We too were in a theater full of people who didn't know the story line. My group were the only ones laughing at the (sometimes hidden) humor. It was very Tim Burton-esque and I loved it!!!!
