Thanks to mrtoad for mentioning this in another topic.

As a huge fan of this show, I hope that rumor is true!  Now they just need to have a host as good as Anderson Cooper was.  Hmmmm, maybe Phil from Amazing Race can do the Mole as well - he would be a great host!

What are your thoughts?

Not a rumor, but confirmed.

Some information:

That funny sound you hear is the bottom of the barrel being scraped. ABC has resurrected The Mole after four years, ordering 10 episodes to air this summer. With Anderson Cooper booked by CNN and Ahmad Rashad not being asked back, there's the question of who will host. Producer Scott Stone tells Variety, "We're looking for someone in the Anderson mode, a little mysterious but full of comedy. It could be a breakout role for someone." Casting for players is underway at MoleCasting.com....

So 10 episodes, no Anderson Cooper, No Ahmad Rashad.  Casting must be submited by March 1, 2008.  I am very excited about this, and hope that this lives up to they hype!!

Kevin - why don't you apply?  You would be great in the position!

Great to hear it isn't a rumor, thanks for clearing that up.

And something fun for us to watch over the summer even.  Yay!

BB9 starts next week and now one of my old favs comes back.

I did read that they may dumb it down for a new audience. That would be a terrible thing. The Mole was one of the smartest reality shows out there.

Oh, they better not dumb it down.  I absolutely loved that show.  RealityTv was showing Mole reruns from the first season.  I watched a few of them even though I knew the outcome.  Can't wait to see it again!

I also understand they might try to bring some comedy into it.  The celebrity mole editions were sort of dumbed down, but the first two seasons were very intense.  I know this is such a hard show to produce, because the mystery of the dropping subtle clues to the viewer, but not giving it away.  In the first season, I really had no idea that Katheryn was the mole, while the second season, it was somewhat obvious that Bill was the mole.  The celebrity editions confused me a little too (the editing seemed choppy).  I remember knowing that Corbin was not the Mole (in both editions), nothing ever gave me away that Angie or the Dutch woman (can't think of her now) were the mole.
