| Sort of have the same thought, Tink. I thought the judges while praising Syeshya, also said that she is more suited for musical theater style rather than American Idol style. She has shown, in the last two weeks, great presence on the stage, and her song last week (and her interaction with the band), along with her performances this week showed she was very good in that type of work. Simon did say, maybe she will go. Does he know something about the contestants fan base at this point?
Yes, Tink, I agree 100% both Brooke and Jason should be in the bottom. Jason has struggled the last two weeks, Memories was very forgettable. Forever in Blue Jeans wasn't that bad but his second song wasn't great, but both David's hit home runs. I didn't like so much the arrangement of Sweet Caroline done by David A, though. I am so used to hearing that song a particular way, and David A slowed it down a little, and showed more of his vocals in long notes, rather than making it a fun song. Brooke on the other hand was good was good in "I am I said".
As a side note about Sweet Caroline, I used to frequent the Jellyrolls bar in Pittsburgh, and that song was played every night (must be a Pittsburgh thing). At any rate, the crowd picked up on it and the the 3 notes between Sweet Caroline (la la la) Goodtimes never felt so good, everyone would yell for the 3 notes (this song sucks!) to the music, and then then would say after saying so good (so good, so good, so good).
So Brooke or Jason should be there tonight. I think both David's are safe, so we shall see. I will be sad to see anyone go anymore, as they all had their moments in this competition. |

| | How funny about that bar. David C - I didn't like his 2nd song as much as his first, but he sang it well, so can't complain. I really don't want to see Jason go home tonight as I have always liked him, but that being said, no matter who it is, it will be hard tonight. Leanne

| Brooke is gone, she clearly expected it. At least that was the thought I got.

| | I totally missed last week's show and since I DVR'd this weeks, I fast forwarded it pretty quickly. I'm just not into this season for some reason. At all. Maybe it's cause the winner seems so obvious right now (David A) and I'm NOT a big fan. Maybe it's cause I can't stand the guest mentors. Maybe I've finally just gotten tired of listening to Paula. What was with her review of Jason this week..........it's like she has it all written down before the show and just reads off a script no matter what they do.

| | I not 100% convinced David A will win. I think Dave Cook could beat him. But it doesn't really matter, as I probably wouldn't buy a David A album, but might buy a Dave Cook album (I'm sure both of them will turn out records). I have to feel sorry for Brooke though. The end of the road, and I'm really not sure what she will do. She has a nice style about her, but her connection with the audience really requires an intimate setting--- ie. her playing the piano. "Performing" was not one of her strong points, so you probably won't see her on broadway and such... I think she went basically as far as she could go in the competition, and should be proud of that... I agree with you Rob, it seems somewhat obvious who will be in the final. But stranger things have happened! |

| | I think we have all known for several weeks that it would be a David's final. I am still expecting that. Next week my guess is that Syesha will go, followed by Jason, leaving the finals to the two David's. I was not surprised about Brooke either, but did cry a bit because she was so emotional. If she could have shown that much emotion while holding a microphone she might still be in the competiton. She did deserve to go though. I happen to love Neil Diamond - but have not enjoyed any of the mentors this year. They need to stop doing that - and the 1 hour results shows are for the birds. I fast forward through all the crap to get to the results. It is frustrating. Leanne

| Yep, one hour results can kiss my behind. Every week I keep asking Jake, like he could actually do something about it, what happened to the 30 min results?
I'm sad to see Brooke go, I liked her. I feel it'll be David C as the winner. We haven't had a rocker win it yet. I'm kinda like blah for this season. And am totally Paula and her weirdness. I really only like hearing Simon's opinion anymore.

| | Too bad about Jason... First Memories was bad two weeks ago, then Neil Diamond was so-so, but last night was terrible! While not a Bob Marley fan, I have heard I shot the sheriff, and the song really was unrecognizable. Simon was right, that was literally a bad first round audition. Then Mr. Tambourine Man just sealed his fate. Unfortunately, he was the worst by far last night. As for David Cook. I couldn't make out the lyrics in Hungry like the Wolf (wait a minute, Duran Duran is in the rock & roll Hall of Fame???). Teenage Wasteland was fairly good though. I didn't enjoy Syesha's proud Mary. Again performing, which she is very very good at, but maybe her singing wasn't that great. She rebounded with that Sam Cooke song, and while I appreciate her emotions, I didn't want to see her crying. I know the song somehow stuck a chord with her and the civil rights movement, but I really don't want people to give her a "sympathy" vote because she cried. Simon was right, though David A was the best, although I really personally didn't like Love me tender so much. So no surprise, Jason must go tonight. The only questions is can Syeshya somehow make it to the final? Also they said 3 of the performers were number 1 before in votes--- David A, of course, and Dave Cook. Does Syeshya have that much following or does Jason have that many fans? |
