I just read that fact too the Jeff Archuleta will be banned from backstage.  I also heard when he won Star Search, one of the Judges said his dad was very determined.  But yes, David did sing one verse of Beautiful Girls by Sean Kingston during stand by me.  Davis has done this before, in particular the week when they were supposed to pick a song from the year they were born, and he chose a weird song that was never a us hit, and actually written in 1986.

Not sure if this has any effect on the competition, but an interesting development late in the competition.

If you got to vote for the worst they have a clip of Naomi Judd stating that David A's dad is a bad stage dad, they also have a vid comprised of clips of David A licking his lips (they call him Lizard Boy). Yes, I watched, and yes I laughed! LOL

Makes you wonder what David A would really be like if his dad was out of the picture.

hmm, maybe his dad is living his life through the chance his son has. Is his dad a singer?

Trumpet player....who just so happens to have worked with AI producers before. V4TW has pointed out that most everyone in the top 12 had already had a record contract or appeared on another talent show type contest (star search) so really most in the top 12 weren't new talents, they were talents that hadn't made it their first go 'round.

Very interesting - I had never read that about David A.

I do think that America made the right decision last week.  As much as I like Jason - he had to go.

Still thinking we will see a David final.

Well, I think David Cook showed last night that he is more versitile than David A.  Syeshya, is really a great performer, but probably lacked a little in singing last night.  The flirting during Fever was interesting, but really didn't do too much.  The song from Happy Feet was ok, but not memorable.

David Cook I thought did an awesome job with The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, and Don't Want to Miss a Think was Good.  The Switchfoot song was ok, but not original.

David A, was good in his first and last songs (the ballads).  But singing the second song he looked very uncomfortable.  I don't think he missed a lyric, but it seemed to me whenever he was unsure of a lyric, you had trouble hearing him.  I think he has a habit of mumbling a little in those situations.  But to me, it just re-affirmed, that he is not a pop artist, and he definately has trouble singing and performing together.  David Cook is much better than that in those situations.

I respectfully disagree with you on one point Kevin.

I loved that song David A chose.  It was so different, and looked like he was having fun to me.

I totally agree with everything else you said, and am confident we will have an all David final next week.

Syesha is going to be good on Broadway, but I think she's gone this week. Love, love, love David C, as always! David A, while I did like the fact he sang something different, I wish he would have picked a different song, still keeping in line with the pop choice he sang though. Yep,it'll be a David's finale.
