Ok, it is 14. I'll let everyone ponder on the reason for a day. Leanne and I had a complete discussion about the same thing last May, with both of us aware Disney has made things a particular way for a reason. The answer is more logical and really has nothing to do with Disney.

Is it cause that's the speed the trams that take you to your car drive?  Their top speed?

I was told that fact too (trams are 14 MPH), so technically you are correct. But there is another reason why it is 14... Something logical, but I never would have thought that myself.

Because it's an odd number so people will take notice of it? Oh, I know! I was born the 14th and I'm the best so that's why! LOL

14 is an odd number -- or is it even .. Oh I'm so punny.

Anyways, yes Danette that is a popular idea that people would remember the unique speed. In fact, the speed limit used to be 15 in the parking lots, and was changed to 14. The tram drivers remind you that the speed limit is 14 MPH, so most people would remember the number.

But the actual main reason has to do with the fact that if the speed limit was 15, the roads would come under the jurisdiction of the Anaheim Police. By making the speed limit 14, Disney can patrol them themselves with their own security.
