I hope I didn't offend those of you who are a little apprehensive with change!  That wasn't my intention!  I'm all for change at DL/WDW so my son can relate to the rides.  Now, he'll still LOVE Splash Mountain...but if it was a movie he'd seen/loves...he'd love it even more (and I'd be stuck riding it over and over-so maybe I don't want change on Splash Mountain)!  If there are subtle changes to Small World that can help our kids relate, I'm all for it.  I realize that it doesn't need characters added for them to relate (they are all singing children after all) but it IS Disney!  Why not have the Disney character fanfare!?  And it sounds as if it will be tastefully done!

I'm with you Lisa!  Everything I like gets canceled or discontinued etc etc etc!

Oh, and my kids have seen almost every Disney movie (with the exception of Song of the South obviously (but only cause I don't have it), Hunchback of Notre Dame (he never sits still long enough to get involved), and Black Cauldron (though that's cause of me..I remember it being a dark movie and I just haven't pushed him to watch it-maybe I should watch it myself to refresh my memory of it!), including most of the old live action movies like Pollyanna etc.

Lisa - all my favorites also get cancelled.  Mid series, which hurts even more. lol

Mynde - no you did not offend anyone!  Not me at least.

And you brought up a good point - one room at the end with all the characters singing would be great!

Alex has seen Song of the South and we do have it on DVD.  It is one of my favorites of the older movies.  As for completely live action movies, the only one Alex has seen parts of is the original Parent Trap.  I thought he would like it, but he didn't sit down to watch.

After he saw Song of the South, it helped on Splash because he knew who the characters were at that point.  Before then, it was simply a Disney ride so it didn't matter to him.

Black Cauldron is a little different. I didn't ever watch it until about a year ago, didn't really interest me then. I too have Song of the South, my friend "borrowed" it and burned it for me.

I cannot believe how crabby people who call themselves Disney purists can be. I read the article and the comments, then I added my own comments in regards to the negitivity. I hope it came out as I intended it to be. I wanted to address the attacks without being rude. The comments will be posted as soon as a moderator okays them. Please check them out and let me know if I was able to clearly make my point, I would appreciate it a lot.

Keith - it is up and I loved what you had to say!  I simply can't believe what those people are saying, and hopefully your words will hit home to some of them.

Mynde, I wasn't offended at all with what you said. No worries!

One of the best things about this board is people share their opinions and it's okay. No one seems to get offended by other people's opinions.

Thanks Lisa!

Keith, your words always move me!  I agree with you totally!!  Hopefully it'll shut them up and put them back in their place!

I love this ride the way it is, but I am looking forward to the changes Disney is making. Seems like every year we go there is something always changing. I remember when StarWars was the main attraction. My husband remembers when you had tickets for each ride.

Welcome to the DML message boards Hamblet!

Alex - our 5 year old loves the ride the way it is, but he is also excited about the changes.
