| | According to my sister who was a manager for the Disney stores before, she just heard from a reliable source that The Children's Place is going to pull the plug on the stores immediately. Curious to see how this will play out this week. |

| | Some more information from my sister--- supposedly the stores will revert back to Disney, but 1/3 of them will probably close within the next couple months. Not too surprised myself due to the problems at retail for many stores (including Old Navy, where my sister is a manager of). Will certainly be an interesting week. |

| That's too bad. Although ever since they started remodeling a lot of the Disney Stores a few years ago, I haven't been very impressed with them. I like the way the stores were in the beginning. It was like a little piece of Disney when I went to the mall; all magical and fun. I didn't like it when they remodeled the stores to look like regular, boring stores. Fortunately, the Disney Store in Palm Desert is still the old style store. But now I'm spoiled by the World of Disney store and I usually wait until I go to DTD to do any Disney shopping.

| | I will be interesting to see what happens with these stores, especially when Disney takes back control. Their market before was really struggling when they sold them to The Children's Place. Getting them back after a couple years, might allow them to put their collectibles back in the store, along with giving them an outlet for other things (plus advertising their theme parks!). The store where my sister was the manager, is probably going to be one closing (my sister is good friends with the district managers of the store, as this is how she is getting the information). She was with the Disney store back when the employees wore the blue sweaters with the Big Disney D on them (ala the Mickey Mouse club), and would sing the Mickey Mouse Theme song at closing time of the store (maybe they did this in the first couple years of operation of the store). Disney stores lost that magic somewhere in the 90s, and a struggling consumer market made it unprofitable. I have to say, the WOD's, nor the Disney stores in China I have been too haven't impressed me. In my recent trips to the parks and the WOD's, I haven't found anything that just screams out to me--- YOU MUST HAVE THIS. The WOD in NYC, while I found it cool, left me with the same impression, along with the Disney stores operating in Suzhou, China (actually I found it odd, that Disney China was a distributer for Snoopy!!). When they were talking about the stores before, Disney was talking about signing an exclusive deal with Toys-R-Us or Target to have a Disney section in their stores, before they signed a deal with the Children's Place. I wonder if that is a better idea for Disney to pursue? |

| I hope they don't close the Disney stores! It's my fix for not being able to go to DL or DW more than once a year!!! Although, they never have "music videos" playing on the big TV's anymore so it's not quite as fun...but still! I hope that if they stay alive they'll go back to putting the big ride-like display things up near the ceilings.

| | They closed the Disney Store at Park Meadows several months ago. I do remember the changes when Children's Place bought them, and would LOVE to have Disney own them again. I sure hope they put the Disney Store back in our mall. I have always loved going there. Leanne

| Well, that would explain why the Disney Store was closed at the mall when we went up there this weekend. I was sooo disappointed! My niece must have asked me like 4 times why the Disney Store was closed, I felt bad because even if I don't buy them something, we always go into the Disney Store when we go shopping. I hope they open the one out here back up!

| | Oh wow! I was just at the Disney Store at Ontario, CA 10 days ago! It was really crowded when I went in there and everything was a mess. Ontario Mills is so cool. They have a Build-A-Bear Workshop, a Rainforest Cafe, and a Lego Store. We still have an original style Disney Store at the Palm Desert Westfield Mall (by Palm Springs).
