| so has the liquidations started? I was debating if it was worth a trip to the ones closing this weekend.

| | Well, my sister and I went to the Disney store where she was a manager for 9 years for the last time on Friday night. For her it was a sad occasion, as she had been there when they were originally setting up the store. She took her camera along to take photo (note that you were never technically allowed to take photos in the store, but no one there stopped her). Bittersweet, as the resin characters throughout the store will be smashed (according to the CM's left in the store). She thought it was funny because the TV/VCR from her breakroom was also on sale (the liquidators try to get rid of everything). They have 4 days left, and then it will be closed for good. When my sister worked there, they wore cast member sweaters, and sang the sometimes sang the Mickey Mouse theme song whenever the store closed. She wanted to get some people together and do that for the last day, but it really couldn't be done (considering she doesn't work there anymore).... But in other news on that--- she went from a manager at Disney to a customer service manager at Old Navy. Well, Old Navy just decided to lay off many of their CSM's last week, and her position was eliminated, after 4 years there... GAP Inc, is losing money at their Old Navy stores, and some believe that chain is in big trouble. |
