| | Hi everyone - well I have been trying to figure out what restaurants we want to try on our next trip. One for sure is the French Market - that one is a done deal. I thought about Cafe Orleans, River Belle Terrace and a few others, but they either don't have something Andy will eat, or they have nothing Alex will eat. So, I found a few others that sound good, and wanted to know if anyone has eaten at these places: La Brea Bakery - we would be getting sandwiches most likey - are they any good? PCH Grill for Dinner Storytellers for Dinner - NOT the buffet. Any info on any of these places would be helpful. Thanks! Leanne

| Dang Leanne, I don't know what to tell you. Wish I could help out but I haven't really eaten in to many of the sit-downs there.

| We didn't either! It was mostly the walk up places or the resturant beside the hotel when we got home ..... But you know what i always try to tell myself... you'll never know if you like it till you try it.... plus i find just cause someone likes or doesn't like doesn't mean i will feel the same!.... so sometimes i like to try things for myself.... and if you really don't like it just don't bother going back... who knows maybe you will find something you all love and go back again and again....
Ashley... waiting till i can go back to disneyland!! |

| You should try one of the spots you want to try for you! If there isn't anything there the boys will eat then you could ask for something they will eat (or so I've read.....if you want mac-n-cheese and it's not on the menu, just ask and they'll get it for you....)(is that true??) Anyway! We ate at the River Bell Terrace (was that on your list? Can't remember now!) and really enjoyed it. We sat outside under an umbrella table at the end of the terrace. We watched the pirate show happening on Pirate's Lair (couldn't really hear much but it was still entertaining to see the actor who WAS Cap'n Jack!) We sat a while and just watched people walk/run by. The food was good...but huge portions! Joshua was able to get his usual chicken fingers if I remember correctly and Guy got a bread bowl soup along with his ribs etc so it's easy to split a meal! As for the other places you mentioned...sorry can't help!

| | We are probably going to try Storytellers for Dinner, but need to decide so I can make PS for us. lol I really love sandwiches, so want to try La brea if we get a chance. We will hold of on PCH until October - we may actually stay at the Paradise Pier again on that trip so it would be very convenient for us then too. I looked at the menus yesterday and can't remember them now - just that either Alex had nothing to eat, or Andy had nothing to eat. Alex will eat mac n cheese, hot dogs and chicken tenders - that is pretty much it. Andy will not eat seafood, or poultry so that makes it tough. lol Leanne

| | Leanne, I'm pretty sure that Storytellers has mac and cheese and/or chicken tenders. My son usually gets the make your own pizza, but he also gets mac and cheese and chicken tenders a lot when we eat out. So I'm pretty sure they have one if not both. Also Storytellers has a wonderful filet mignon and pasta dishes. They also have a very nice buffet with prime rib and other yummy dishes. Plus some delicious desserts! La Brea Bakery is pretty good; they have good sandwiches.

| | We have been enjoying the mexican food place near Big Thunder, Rancho del Zocalo. The mixed platter is really pretty good and they will make any burrito that you want.. My kids get the bean and cheese kids meal. My daughter will just eat what she can (age 7) but my son ate two kids meals in one sitting when we went in February (age 9). My wife and I are leaving the kids at home for our anniversary at the end of April. We figured since we are taking them to Hawaii with us in May to celebrate our anniversary as a family that we'd get a kid-free trip to Disneyland so we can enjoy everything without the kids. We plan on hitting up Zocalo but also finally hitting Blue Buyou (the kids would pretty much ruin that for us) so it made our list for this trip. I think we are going to check out some additional Downtown Disney places too - perhaps House of Blues. We actually plan on hitting the Carnation Cafe for breakfast one morning too.. Anyways - hope those suggestions help you out.. /edit: corrected title of Rancho del Zocalo. |

| | Wasabi - I saw you on the calendar and was going to say happy anniversary! Last year was our 20th, so good job on getting to 10. Yep, I like Rancho - and Alex used to eat bean burritos, but not anymore. Silly kid. You will love Carnation Cafe - definitely do that! Thanks Lisa - we have pretty much decided to do Storytellers, but now are trying to decide if we need Priority Seating or if we could just walk up. lol I will try to narrow Andy down so we can set up the PS. | | I ate the French Market and Carnation Cafe when there in Feb. Most of the other time I ate corn dogs, or got drive thru food before coming in the park (when I would drive there after work at 5:00 I would just get drive thru). The French Market allows me to eat the Monte Cristo, which is is really the only reason I eat at the blue bayou (and only ever for lunch!)... Actually I was very impressed with the service I lad last time in the french market. Going to the park as a single, and sitting in one of these sit down restaurants, you can be overlooked!! |
