Day 6 at Cocoa Beach and Disney Hollywood Studios

We got up late this morning and made our way to the ocean. We traveled about an hour to go to Cocoa Beach. When we arrived we found a section of the beach that was almost deserted. We played in the surf, made sand castles, hunted for shells, and just had a good time. The beach was so nice and we found a ton of shells, and pieces of sand dollars. Also washed up on the beach was jellyfish. Which was kind of neat to see. The water was freezing and the waves were huge. We was probably at the ocean for 2 hours. Once done we went and grabbed some lunch at Long John Silvers ( this was an out of pocket expense).

Once back at the hotel we cleaned up and got ready to go eat supper at 50’s Prime Time Café at Disney Hollywood Studios. We arrived at DHS and we had some photo pass photos in front of the Sorcerer’s hat. Then we went on the Great Movie Ride, which we was treated to the cowboy version and not the gangster’s one. After the GMR we went to check-in and was informed they was running behind schedule.

We are finally seated and we are greeted by our “Uncle Dale” who told us we had to set the table and make sure to keep our elbows off the table. For supper I believe Troy and I both had the meatloaf again like last year. Sorry no pictures. The kids had chicken nuggets and Kyan had chicken noodle soup for an appetizer Trey passed on the appetizer. Both children had an ice cream sundae for dessert. Troy had the brownie sundae again and I had angel food cake with berries and whipped cream. The best thing about our meal was the dessert and the interaction with “Uncle Dale“. The dinner food went down hill from last year, maybe it was an off night.

sorry the picture is a little washed out.

Now our server “Uncle Dale” was a hoot. He was constantly picking on Kyan, referring to her as “Cindy” the whole night. ( She was dressed as Cinderella). He was teasing her every chance he had even trying to feed her some of her food. Then he would threaten to give her a kiss when we was leaving and she darted under the table.

At one point during the meal we had a gentleman that had to be moved from his table because he was being “bad”. And he had to come over and sit with us. When they asked his family if they wanted him to come back they said, “No just his wallet” It was so much fun. So after we finish our meal “Uncle Dale” gets ready to give Ky her kiss.

It was so funny because she was squealing and screaming and getting so rowdy and hiding under the table. I finally told “Uncle Dale” I was going to leave her with him and he said she was a “spitfire” He totally had her pegged. I just have to say the experience there totally outweighed the bad food. “Uncle Dale” totally mad it unforgettable. Actually the kids still talk about how “Uncle Dale” was going to kiss her. Total meal came to $69.12

So after leaving our uncle behind we went to get in line for Fantasmic. After waiting 30minutes, Kyan declares she has to go to the bathroom. When she has to go you have to take her. So Troy went to take her but the line started moving. I said go and I will wave her princess wand that lights up and hopefully you will find us. (Our cell phones were not working this day, no idea why) So Trey and I go into the seating area and our center about 6-8 rows from the bottom. So can you imagine how I looked staying on the seats waving a blue light up Cinderella wand. I felt and looked like an idiot. Finally about 5 minutes before the show starts I spot Troy about 2 sections over from us at the top. Should I send Trey to get him, I was debating this, but I was afraid I would have 2 lost boys. No I just stood and waved harder and right when the lights go out he found us. Troy was a little mad since there was bathrooms at the top of the seating area and that our phones where down. He said Kyan was so worried and upset and kept saying, “ I should have waited longer.” Oh my sweet little girl. So with the family regrouped we got to enjoy Fantasmic and it was so good.

After that we had EMH for DHS and I saw there was a Playhouse Disney dance party with characters. So that was our first stop and we was there for an hour playing, dancing and having a great time. There was a balloon maker there that was awesome. He made Kyan a princess crown and wand. He made Trey Mickey ears and a sword. I loved Trey’s ears so much that I even got a pair and wore them with pride. The dance party featured Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, JoJo, Goliath, Annie, & Quincy. It was so much fun. After that we went and saw the Little Mermaid show and then we went back into the Playhouse Disney dance party. The kids had so much fun and the characters where mingling with the kids and dancing. There was no lines for pictures just great fun and an awesome DJ.

I'm confused, you have to get in line for Fantasmic? Not that it really matters as I think we're doing priority seating but I didn't realize there was a line. You kids look like they're having a blast at the dance party and how awesome is it that ya'll got so much interaction!

D - you don't have to wait in line but if you don't you won't get good seats I guess.  Even with the Fantasmic dining package you still have to wait in line....just in a shorter one.

K - 50's Prime Time sounds fun!!!!  Your pics all turned out wonderful!  And the kids look soooo happy!!!

The Playhouse Disney Dance Party has got to have been the highlight of the trip. It was so worth it. I have so many pictures from the trip that I have to pick the best ones, to post.

Although I think that is all of them from Fantasmic, some where a little darker.

What a Fantasmic day you had!  (pun intended)

The beach pictures were great, thanks for including them!  We saw a beached jellyfish when we went to the beach a few years ago too.  It is great to get a close up look.

The dinner sounds like it was a total blast.  What an experience.

Alex always has to go potty after we get in line when he is scared to ride something (or a little nervous).  This has happened to us a few times.  When riding a ride, we all leave the line so he can potty.

I am going to tell Andy to talk to you about Fantasmic!  He wants to see it, but needs to know a bit of info.
