We had an absolutely fantastic trip this time.It was great trying new restaurants, shows and things I have wanted to do for a long time.
I really enjoyed meeting that family on our first night, and getting hugs from the daughter several times during the trip.
The first night there was a bit chilly, but after that the weather was simply perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. On our last day the temps did get warmer, and the crowds grew immensely but it was still great weather. We actually had to use a few of the fastpasses we collected on our final day!
The lidocaine patches really helped my back this trip, and made doing rides like Indy possible.
Unfortunately the patches I use for motion sickness did not do such a good job. I don't remember Tower ever making me sick, but it did this trip. Each time we rode, I had to bow out of things for the next hour or so because I was so dizzy.
We finally figured out that my feet don't swell because I am retaining water. It is because of the fibro and the joint problems that causes. I have always wondered why my ankles also swell horribly, and the bones in the ankles are not visible after the first day because of swelling. This being a joint problem makes perfect sense.
None of us liked Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and of the all of the 3-D shows, this one had the least amount of people watching. It really IS time for a replacement, and this would be a perfect place to put Mickey's Philharmagic.
We missed Kevin on this trip. Alex frequently asked for him.
It was nice staying at such a close hotel, and being able to get cheap cokes there! Why they don't sell chocolate milk I will never know.
Getting Dreamed was SO fun! Ben was incredibly nice, and I really enjoyed talking to him before the show began.
We actually did everything we had intended to do before we left home for the first time in a long time. We got a lot of work done for the website, and had fun doing it!
Because of our visit to First Aid, we now have a list of all local hospitals to put on the website. That is great information. It is too bad the doctor didn't take Alex's illness seriously, but it all worked out. Right now, Alex is happily playing, and if it weren't for the bowel issues I would say he was perfectly healthy.
Even after Alex got sick, he was still a perfect child. Not grumpy and gave NO indication that he was sick at all, except for the doubling over in pain the two times he did that. Of course the fever on our last day was a big indication. The fact that he basically slept for 18 hours was a good indication he was sick, but never once did he act like it. He was still his wonderful self.
Driving straight through is something we will never do again. We would not have done it this time if it would have been cheaper to keep the car an additional day.
We know that we will never use Airport Bus again. It is really because of them that we made the decision to drive. I had called Super shuttle, but they now require a car seat or booster for children 5 and under.
Next trip Alex will be 6. Next trip we are considering driving - the right way!
This was about as perfect a trip as you could imagine. Cast members were awesome. The only time someone was rude was the last night, and our little boy seems to love adventure rides, but really does hate roller coasters!
We never got to ride Peter Pan. We missed early entry. Our AP's expire next month. We will wait to renew them and do a package in October, then upgrade so that we have early entry at least once.
I can't think of a single regret for this trip. We did it all, and enjoyed it all!
