I know, they have Magical Bugs...they are invisible there !!   I'm really glad to hear that the bugs aren't an issue.  In all the books I read they all said be sure to take bug spray.  Now, I've got it with me but now I'm happy to hear that I might  not need it!!!

Mynde - All it takes is faith and trust...and something I forgot...Dust...just a little bit of Pixie Dust

WDW does a wonderful job with bug control. I have never been bitten by a misqito or annoyed by bugs. The latest I've ever been there was May 25....so maybe it get's a little worse in the summer months.

There are these gross bugs called "Love" bugs, because during the summer when they couple they become a really big bug (when joined), and I guess they stay connected for hours. They make a huge mess on your windshield if you are driving. And you may see them at Disney, but they are slow and won't do anything to you. They are kind of the PushMe-PullYou's (Dr.Doolittle reference) of the bug world.

Just thought I'd mention them because they are bizarre looking and would probably creep you out if you didn't know about them. I think you're going during their (ahem) "family planning" season.

lol Elaine - thanks for the warning!  It is nice to know we should not have a bug issue.  I wonder how Disney does it!

Well, my only chance is that it'll be too cool for most bugs, I doubt Disney's bug zappers work in the campgrounds! LOL But I don't mind bugs or using Off (but will have to get the Skin So Soft stuff so I don't stink when we go to the parks).

lol Danette - I hate the smell of bug spray, so that comment about stinking made me totally crack up.

To think about it I remember seeing the bugs in June and they was a pain, they would land on everything. But only the "love bugs" was around, and I am not sure if the bug spray would work for them.

Leanne, make sure you test your misting fans to make sure that they don't leak. That is a big problem with some. Nothing worse than opening a backpack and finding everytlhing wet. Fill them up and lay them on their sides for a while and see what happens. One way to make sure is to put each in a big zip lock bag when not in use.

I am here in Tampa and the fans are a good idea. If you have a stroller...rest the fan on the tray for the kiddos, that way you don't have to carry it. The summertime here in Fl is like everyone up north's winter. We stay inside.

As for bugs..they aren't bad but mosquitos are AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would get a bug spray with suntan lotion in it.
Sunglasses and a hat are a MUST as well. It gets VERY VERY bright here
If anyone needs any tips or advice on weather and such....you can e-mail me..

Thanks keith - I will definitely test them!

Britt - we will have a stroller, but it doesn't have a shelf - it is just an umbrella stroller.  We can put them in the bottom though, so that will work!  It will keep the backpack much lighter.   lol
