Be sure to update us when you get back so we know if you found the stores ok!  And don't forget to mention her allergies when you get there....they should be able to accommodate her at any table service restaurant you go to!

Mynde - All it takes is faith and trust...and something I forgot...Dust...just a little bit of Pixie Dust

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the boards. Sorry I haven't welcomed you before; I haven't been to the boards lately. My sister and her friend go to Henry's all of the time (they have one by their neighborhood) and they really like it. They have all kinds of organic and health food products. It would be a good choice for you. I've never heard of the Whole Foods place so I can't give you an opinion on that one. But have a great time on your trip!

Mynde,

Thanks for the assistance.
Through Disney I was able to locate a market called Henry's Farmers Market which is about 10 minutes away from the resort.
I also found the Whole Foods store you mentioned which would probably be the better option.
We'll be renting a car for 2-3 days of our 7 day stay so we should be fine.  I hope.
We won't need too many things so I'm hoping that one or two stores will have what my daughter likes to eat.

Aloha,
Peter

Thank you all very much for your help.
I'm sure that finding at least the few stores mentioned won't be a problem.

Happy 4th next week!

Aloha,
Peter

Hi Peter, It is good to see as always the great help given out by the members here. I believe this is the best site for getting help when planning a great Disney vacation. Please make sure that you write a trip report when you get back and include any info about stores, restaurants, and tips that would be helpfull to others that have children with allergies like your daughter. Food allergies especially ones that extend past even just ingestion to smell must be hard to combat when traveling. I wish you the best and have a very magical experience at the happiest place on earth.

Peter - if you decide to make priority seatings while there - have vacation planning do it for you - and have them indicate all of the food allergies so it is in the reservation!

I also know there is an Albertson's close by (or did that close like they did in Colorado?) that will deliver to the Paradise Pier.

Peter - have you put your trip on the calendar yet? lol  I have been away and have not yet checked.

I'll be sure to post our experiences and suggestions to others for children with allergy problems.
To say the least I am happy to now be part of what seems like a huge family as everyone here seems to look out for one another and are always glad to give any suggestions for any topics.
As this is our first trip with our daughter being severely sensitive to smells and such we aren't really sure what to expect yet.
Thank you very much.

Peter you are going to have an incredible trip!  Have you talked to Vacation Planning yet? I am sure they can help you with everything.

And the idea of actually talking to the chef is a great idea as well.

Leanne,

I spoke with vacation planning a while back regarding this trip, and for our trip to WDW we also utilized their resources as well.
To say the least Disney seems to always be willing and able to accomodate anything they possibly can for their guests and we greatly appreciate that.
We may or may not be able to have the chefs make food for our daughter depending on what's available, but as her allergies restrict the consumption of chicken, beef, and pork, the chances they'd be able to bring in and cook bison or lamb for her (as it's the only meats she can safely eat) doesn't seem to be possible.

In WDW they couldn't bring in any foods that they didn't already carry which limited our choices to only organic chicken.
At the time our daughter could eat chicken so it greatly helped us with her meals.
Currently we cook all of her meals so we may quite possibly have to cook and freeze as many meats as we can and bring it with us and look locally for the fruits and vegetables.

With the growing demand for organic and natural foods we're confident that we'll find a good source in the area.
The help and suggestions we've received here has also been a great help.
Thank you everyone for your help and support!

Aloha,
Peter
