I just am amazed that there is such a difference in the dining plans from WDW to DL. Wow

Just a little fyi on booking through Costco.  I tried to book a 5 night, 4 day (one day at Universal studios), and was told "They had no rooms available" for my dates.  I adjusted a couple days...still nothing. the agent told me they were "booked  solid".  In tears I called Disneyland..there were rooms available... BUT COSTCO CANNOT BOOK MORE THAN 4 NIGHTS!  I was soo sad because I wanted the "extra" Character meal by booking through them.  They can sell tickets for longer, but not the rooms.  I was the most upset because I actually drove over 50 miles to renew my membership, so I could book my trip....then I couldn't.

I don't recommend breaking it up!  Just book it all through Disney! Tell them your sob story and perhaps you'll get a free character meal!?

Mynde - All it takes is faith and trust...and something I forgot...Dust...just a little bit of Pixie Dust

You can book a 3 day on Costco and do their package - you will still get the free meal.  Then call Walt Disney Travel Company and do a 2 night 3 day package.  This will actually give you two great packages, and you can do all you want.

If you do this, you will want to call the hotel before you leave and see if they can keep you in the same room.  Since it will be two packages, you may have to leave one room and get into another.  But also, on your third day, then you will have 2 tickets each to use for Fastpasses.

Let me just caution you that this way will be more expensive because instead of getting a 5 day pass for each person you will get a 2 and a 3 day, and those will add up to more than a 5 day.

So, all of that being said, I side with Mynde.  Just book one package.

Oh - I just thought of something else!  Since costco can do 5 day passes, book the 4 nights with them and call the hotel directly for your fifth night!

Now you have a few ideas to toss around.  Let us know what you decide.

I actually ended up booking direct through Disneyland.  The person I spoke with at Costco didn't tell me i couldn't book 5 nights...only that there weren't ANY available.  I found in to be kind of misleading.  He wasn't that personable either...which is in no way a problem, other than I really needed info.  I went with disneyland because I trusted what they were telling me!!

If you really want that character meal I would call Costco again. It never hurts to try.
