| Hi all! I'm Mary... my husband, Frank, and I have 2 girls(almost 5 and 9). I've been to Disneyworld.. and am the only person in our family to have visited any of Disney. We've decided that both the girls are old enough to go finally and so we're planning a trip to Disneyland in March and bringing our niece and nephew along.
My question is this. We are planning on surprising the kids on Christmas with the news of our trip. We're going to do a treasure hunt and so on to let them know. At the end of the treasure hunt I wanted the "treasure" to be a countdown clock. One that I could enter in the date (and of course it be a Disney themed one) and have it countdown to the day we go. I've looked around on the net for a place to purchase one... and am having no luck. So I figured I'd come here and hope that one of you would be helpful in my search.
I look forward to hearing from you... thanks!

| | Welcome to the boards! You've come to the right place for Disney questions!!! I have not seen a countdown clock for Disneyland. Are you set on doing that? Many of us like to be crafty and make surprises and such for our kids to spring the news on them. I'm sure we've got some ideas if you want to go that route!!! Say the word and we'll fire off ideas! Again, welcome to the family!!!!

| | Welcome to the DML message boards. Have you tried a google search on Countdown Timer? I know they have them - but they are for online use. What I do is make a chain with construction paper. One chain for each night of sleep before leaving. Then each night before bed, Alex pulls a chain link. He loves watching the chain get smaller and smaller! Leanne

| I agree...Kristi I love that idea!!!! You could use removable 2 sided tape and remove a Mickey head each day....if you are really ambitious you could put surprise pictures on the back of each head and play a guessing game each night (I'm a girl...with red hair...and a fin). Oh I'll have to remember this for next time!!!!

| Those are great ideas.. but I am really set on the countdown thing. I think we could do something on top of it as I was planning on leaving the countdown thing at the Grandparents house so that both my kids and my niece and nephew could see it often. :-)

| Ok, I looked a bit and couldn't find one. Maybe you can get just a plain one (or a wedding one etc) and just create your own Disney theme on it! You can buy sticker paper and then get clip art (PM Kristi to find out where she got all hers!) and make your own Disney stickers and just cover up the wedding etc! You can get those coundown ones at Hobby Lobby in the wedding section and at party supply stores.
