| | Wow how time can fly. We will be in Disneyland at this time two weeks from now. Alex is getting healthy after being pretty sick with a very high temperature this week. Kevin is going to be there, so we will meet him and his wife Izzy. We can't wait! Anyone else leaving soon - feel free to post here! Leanne

| Yay!!! So Kevin and Izzy are going to get to make it out there, awesome! I looked at the calendar and you leave when I get back so after this Fri we won't be able to hear from each other for like 3 weeks! I doubt I'll be able to get online 'cause it's not free at the campgrounds.

| | Yes, I am able to go to DL a couple days. Back in February I purchased a Premium Pass, and had only used it 3 days, and really wasn't sure if I would use it again, which I was worried about being a waste of money. I got a little lucky, in that my job requires me to go out to Ontario to work, so I'm able to take a little personal time and get to DL. I'm looking forward to it.. Izzy's a little excited about it, so there will be a little work to do to get her very excited. For example, we will arrive on the 18th in LAX (around 10:45AM), and she has said that she said when we arrive there, we could go to the hotel and spend the rest day in our hotel sleeping. This will be our first trip together since she has been here. She is afraid of waiting in lines and such, but I told her I know a couple tricks, and I assured her we would have a good time. Now, what should I do for a first time visitor to Disneyland. Izzy was in Hong Kong Disneyland, and I was able to fool her and get her to ride Space Mountian (claiming I didn't know much about the ride, and that we would enjoy it). Should I take her on Mr. Toad first like I normally do, or try to wow her with something else? |

| Do Toad first, as that's your favorite ride (maybe give her the background story though). As for the coasters, start with Gadgets Go-coaster, then the Matterhorn and them Big Thunder, and then Space if she's still up for coasters. I think that's the easiest way to do the coasters, but in no way shape or form take her on California Screamin'! Most of the rides in Fantasy land would be good to start her out with. I hope she enjoys herself! How about this (might also get her a little more excited) let her go to Disneyland.com and research the rides and let her pick rides that she wants to ride and maybe take turns picking rides. Like you want to ride Toad so that's your first pick, and then she gets to pick a ride. Might make her feel more included into the plans as well.
And Kevin, take it easy on her this time, go at her pace.  LOL

| | Some great ideas there. In particular, I like the one about maybe riding the train. In fact, maybe the only two things we did not get done in HK Disneyland was riding the train, and riding Dumbo.... Perhaps I should enter the park, take the train to Fantasyland, and ride Dumbo... My only problem with is grabbing some fast passes for later, since I expect the park to be a little more crowded on a Saturday. |

| Good ideas D! I like the switching who picks idea. We usually just do what I want to do.  Oh, and never, under any circumstances, tell Izzy that you had to ASK how to get her to enjoy Disney!!!! I liked D's order of coasters too! But if she's bad with spinny, nix the Gadgets Go Coaster!!! Maybe if she is helping in the planning she'll feel better about it all?!

| | Take it easy on her the first day Kevin! I suggest Fantasyland, Jungle Cruise and even Buzz. You can hold off on Star Tours, Pirates and Haunted Mansion until after you pick us up. Then Alex can assure her they are not scary. Alex can't wait to see you again. He is so excited! I think Izzy will like the rides Alex likes and bet she will LOVE Soarin! Don't worry about Screamin' because you and Andy can ride that together while the 3 of us do something else. This is Disneyland. I think between the 4 of us we can get Izzy to love it. Just wait until she hears us talking together. She will realize that you are not weird and that may help her relax a bit. Of course when she sees Alex and his love of Disneyland - well, you know what happens when you see the light in a child's eyes. You saw it last year with Alex. I think she will be fine. If you are really worried - call me. I can talk to her for a few minutes! Leanne

| | Time is now flying by. I got Andy's shirt for the Indiana Jones costume yesterday - I actually found the perfect shirt at Walmart! He tried it on, put on his hat, and when he walked in the room Alex and I just stared. He looks so much like him it is incredible. Andy is going to shave tonight so he will look great when we go. Don't want the beard to be full as Indy's is never full. I also talked to Kevin today and found out that he may not be going to Disneyland after all. I have really been looking forward to seeing one of my best friends again and meeting Izzy. I sure hope it works out so they can be there. Stupid Economy. Finally - it is possible that I am getting the virus Alex just got over. If I am, the timing is great, I will be healthy by the time we leave! Leanne
