We're trying to decide when to go next year.  I'd like it to be warm enough for some downtime at the pool, but not crazy crowded.  We last went in 10/07, and the crowds were very manageable.  Anyone have any advice?  There doesn't seem to be any difference price wise - actually the April quotes are a bit higher, which I thought was odd!

Thanks!

Chris

Chris,

Welcome to the DML forums!  We went in April this year and in May last year.  I would say the crowds were similar on both trips (April 24th, and May 4th).  It was definitely warmer in May, but that was during a heat wave.  April can bring Spring Break crowds earlier in the month and that makes it very crowded.

Both times were fun and we enjoyed it a lot.  For more info on both trips, check out the trip reports from April this year and May last year.

Have you been in mid-October?  If so, how would you compare the crowds to May.

We went at the beginning of June (well, May 30th to be exact) and it was crowded.  Not too bad...but still...crowded.  It was warm enough during the height of the day to swim....but it was CHILLY until noon and after 6!

Chris,

We are leaving Sunday for Disneyland.  I will let you know afterwards how crowded it is!

I just got back on Saturday the 18th.  Wensday and Thursday were great. The crowds were not that bad. Went to the trick or treat party Thursday evening with the kids.  Friday was horriable. The park was packed, you could not even walk around in the park. They had camera crews in Fantasyland filming commercials, which had some rides shut down for awhile. Avereage wait time for any of the rides was at least an hour. My question for everyone is how do you handle a 2 1/2 year old when the park is that busy and he doesn't have the patience to wait in line.

Thanks

Robert

Little toys to play with in the backpack?  Snacks!  We too had a hard time with this with our 3 year old.  We only waited in lines that weren't too long...if the line was long he got to pick if we rode it.  Yes, we waited for Dumbo for 2 1/2 hours!!!!!!!!!!  Course, he got out of line for Potty Breaks with dad a few times.  Waited for 2 1/2 hours for Dumbo but didn't want to wait 30 for Mickey!  Go figure!  We just avoided other rides that were too long and rode those at the end of the day or 1st thing the next day (before the masses arrive).

Thanks, never thought of bringing toys in a backpack for him. Yea, we tried to let him pick out the rides but he is a little thrill junky who is too short to ride the rides he wants to! Hopefully next year he'll be a little taller.

I've been in mid Oct and over Easter weekend in April. Oct wasn't too crowded but we did it hit over fall break so that added to crowds. Easter weekend, will probably never do that again, very crowded and it was my first time taking kids into the park with me (their dad was out to sea on deployment and I was giving their mom a little break), and there were 3 of them, 2 of them twins. What was I thinking!
