We went lst year the first week of April.  It was windy, so swimming was not that great.  Of course my children didnt mind, but I only got in the hot tub.  I have been in May too and it was much warmer then.

I have 4 kids age 2, 5, 7, and 11.  (An 18 yo stepson too but he never wants to come to DL with us anymore-Crazy kid!)  We get there as soon as the park opens and stay til the crowds start to come, around noon.  Then we head back to the hotel for lunch and naps for the nappers and swimming for the older kids.  Then we head back out around 5, have dinner and take in some other rides or shows.  It totally works for us.  Yes, it sucks getting up that early, but it is sooo worth it.  We can get in almost every ride we want before noon
