| Remember when you could ride the Skyway in Fantasyland and the ride went THROUGH the Matterhorn mountain? Remember the Mike Fink Keel Boats? How about Captain EO or the Motor Boat Cruise? For all things "yesterday" about Disneyland, check out this fun website: www.yesterland.com My hubby and I started remembering lots of things as we looked at all the great pix and the information on this site - have fun! | I really miss the Country Bears, but that is all the more reason to go to Disneyworld for our 20th. The bears are still there! I also really miss the Skyway. Funny, since I am afraid of heights, but I did always enjoy that attraction. Peoplemover is another one I miss, it was great to sit down for 20 minutes! Leanne

| Hi all...As corny as it was, I miss the sub ride. Crazy me-my 38th visit is coming up in October! When DL still had the motor boats, I would make my dad (May god rest his wonderful soul)wait until "Wendy's" boat came up so I could ride in it (my namesake). My mom (also with god & dad))was behind the camera alot. My dad was 6'4''/240 lbs, and would squeeze himself into the Dumbo car, even though it pained him to do so! Is miss the skyride too! We would scream as loud as we could going through Matterhorn. I also miss the Country Bear Jamboree-It was a nice way to go in and cool off, and still have fun! What was the name of the attraction that is Innoventions (the animatronic animals are in Splash Mountain now)? Havinga "40's" moment, can't remember. What about the People Mover? Another kind of corny ride when you compare to todays standards, but back when it was up and running, it was a thrill for a youngster. Before I was born, my parents had been to DL a couple of times, and somewhere packed away (It has been hard to go through mom and dads things/keepsakes) on old 8mm tape I have film of Walt Disney standing on the corner of Main Street. People just walked by him, not knowing who he was. I should suck it up, find it, and have it transferred to video, or dvd. Be back with more. I love this sight! It is so much fun to read others opinions, and memories. And, I am glad I am not the only Disney-nut!

| America Sings is the attraction you are thinking of crazy. And no kidding, I thought I was the biggest Disney Freak around. Then I turned dreamer into one, and met others. I absolutely love this site and the people on it. You are all what make this forum wonderful! Leanne

| Do you think it is worth the money to stay at one of the DLR hotels? Still thinking of hoarding money, and taking the 16 y/o girls to stay there, just because this is a special age milestone, and DD's friend has NEVER been to DL.

| Crazy, it depends on what you are looking for in your hotel. I love the Disney Hotels. Grand Californian is my overall favorite, mainly because of location. Disney Hotel is as long a walk to the Gates as Howard Johnson's and much more expensive. Yes, the Disneyland Hotel has the Neverland Pool, and is surrounded by everything Disney, you don't have to stay there to check out the grounds. Howard Johnson also has larger rooms, a wonderful staff, and a sit down restaurant as well as McDonalds practically right outside the hotel. If we are lucky enough to be able to go back later in the year, we will stay at Howard Johnson. Leanne
