Monster's Inc - Mike and Sully to the Rescue Review (2006)

Monsters Inc, new in 2006, is an attraction that has garnered a vast difference of opinions. Now housed in the old Super Star Limo building Monsters Inc is a worthy replacement.

When going through the queue you are being directed to the Monstropolis taxies. With various signs to keep you on the right track, the taxis are easy to find. Be sure to take note of the Employee of the Month and the advertisements for Harry Housen's Restaurant. Also in the cue is a vending machine full of very large servings of foods most humans would never touch. Shortly after seeing the vending machines, you will be loaded onto your taxi. The Monsters Inc. queue is very well done and we were almost disappointed that we were through it so quickly.

Each ride vehicle has 3 rows each able to sit 3 people. On the left of each row is a miniature television which is turned on at the start of the attraction. While leaving the loading area, be sure to look at the cross walk signage.

The ride itself will take you through the scare factory and more as Mike and Sully try to rescue Boo and keep her safe. You will see many familiar characters from the Monster's Inc. Movie.

Monster's Inc is a Dark Rides. At Disneyland that means it is not a thrill ride but rather a ride that moves you through the storyline of a Disney movie. Unlike the Fantasy Land Dark rides Monster's Inc. is a little lighter and brighter. The sounds are fresh and new and the storyline is well done. The biggest standout of this ride is the two door rooms. They are very well done and give the impression of the vastness of the door rooms in the movie.

As your ride ends you will see Roz. She does talk to one person in each ride vehicle. If you are lucky that person could be you!

Monsters Inc is an attraction enjoyed by our whole family. Two adults and an almost 4 year old enjoyed the ride. Roz even talked to me. She liked my glasses and wanted to trade.

I recommend this ride for both adults and children. It is well done and something everyone should see at least once to determine for yourself if it is a ride you would like to ride again.
