Econoguide: Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood 2005 and Other Major Southern California Attractions Including Disney's California Adventure, by Corey Sandler covers Disneyland and the surrounding area very well.

This book is a wonderful resource for Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Unlike other Disneyland guidebooks, the Econoguide gives detailed information about many of the attractions, shows, and parades. It also has great information for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, which is being celebrated this year.

The Econoguide also focuses a whole chapter on getting the best price for airline tickets, using a travel agent, busses and other ways of transportation to the Disneyland Resort in California.

The Disneyland information in this book is very well done, and gives more information than most other guidebooks. The one thing to be aware of though, is that in most cases, prices given in the book are incorrect. For example, while the author does discuss Fantasmic! and the balcony seating, the price given is one from several years ago, as the current price (March 2005) is $53.00. The same applies for the park hopper ticket prices, as the author is using prices from a few years ago. Other than those big errors, the information in this book is absolutely wonderful.

Information about the three Disney owned hotels is very well researched and very thorough. When talking about the Grand Californian Hotel, the author mentions three items to look for while there. These three items are not mentioned in other Disneyland books in their mentioning of the hotels so it is very refreshing to read in the Econoguide.

After the Disneyland Resort, the book goes into Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm, and Six Flag's Magic Mountain. When this information is done, the author gets serious about trying to save the reader money. The reader will learn how to negotiate for a cheaper rate at a hotel. In addition the list of restaurants is very wide, and includes a pricing guide.

The Econoguide also has information on beaches, local museums and other areas of interest in the Los Angeles vicinity.

All in all, this is a wonderful book, and very helpful in planning a vacation to the Disneyland Resort, and even other southern California destinations.
