Disneyland Early Entry Guide (updated for 2008)

Disneyland Early Entry

2008 Changes to Early Entry:

Beginning on Sunday, January 5th the early entry days have been changed, as well as the name.  Early Entry is now called Magical Mornings. The biggest change is that Magical Mornings are now offered on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.  Previously there was early entry on Monday instead of Sunday.  According to Cast Members, this change actually started today and they plan on keeping these Magical Morning days throughout the year.

Disneyland has brought Early Entry back to the Disney Resort starting in January, 2005. At this time it is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and you can enter Disneyland 1 hour before it opens to the general public. This is offered for people who have a 3 day passport or higher, and it is offered for only one time during your stay. If you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, or the Grand Californian Hotel then you are entitled to early entry each day it is offered, no matter what type of ticket you are holding.  This is even valid for Annual Pass holders, and for them, staying at one of the resort hotels is the ONLY way to get Early Entry.

Currently, Early Entry allows you into Fantasyland 1 hour before Disneyland opens. This is a great opportunity, because there are no Fantasyland attractions that offer Fastpass, and the lines become very long later in the day. You will also find much of Tomorrowland open for Early Entry, such as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and Space Mountain.  This is not a guarantee, but since Early Entry began again we have seen parts of Tomorrowland opened each time we enjoyed the early morning hour.  Even if you have a toddler, getting up early one day during your stay is completely worth it. Also remember if you are planning on using Disney Dining Coupons, this is a great time to use the Breakfast in the Park coupons. If planning a Character meal, make your reservations for very early, before early entry, or after the park opens so you can take advantage of very minimal lines for the Fantasyland Attractions.

In addition to Fantasyland being open, you will find select shops and 'eateries' available on Main Street for this early hour.

Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness

New for 2005 Walt Disney Travel Company Packages, Mickey's Morning Madness allows you to enter Toontown (on selected days) 1 hour earlier than the general public. On select days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday), Toontown will open at the same time of day as Disneyland, and with this special ticket, you can go in for an hour of fun.

This experience gives you the opportunity to meet and greet some of your favorite Toontown characters. Mickey Mouse, as the Mayor of Toontown will lead a ceremony making everyone a 'citizen' of Toontown, and then things get real crazy. The Characters will be showing off their houses and playing games, in addition to getting you involved in their 'civic' duties.

Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness is a great opportunity for unique photographs, and special moments with your favorite characters. Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness is great when used in conjunction with Early Entry. When the park opens to the general public, Toontown will then open for the Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness. Normally Toontown opens 1 hour after Disneyland opens.
