Planning your Disney Vacation - Checklist

  • Choose the dates you plan to be at the Disney Resort. Remember, if you are visiting off-season the entertainment is usually only on the weekends. During busy season the weekends are very crowded but entertainment is in full swing.

  • Decide on how long you want to be at the Disney Resort.

  • When traveling with toddlers or babies, be sure to plan rest periods into your days, and figure your length of stay with breaks in mind.

  • Select your preferred hotel. Decide whether you want to stay at a Disney Resort Hotel, or another hotel.

  • Decide on package or a la carte reservations. Check our link for info on packages to help make your decision.

  • Begin making your calls, or go online to make your hotel or package reservations. Make your reservations… early. The Disneyland Resort Hotels fill up early during the busy season.

  • Make car rental reservations if needed. Will you need to rent a car seat as well, or are you taking your own?

  • Confirm reservations: make hotel requests (bedding type, view, crib)

  • 65 days prior, set up a tentative dining schedule for character meals and other Disney restaurants.

  • 60 Days before you leave make dining reservations for Goofy's Kitchen, PCH Grill (Lilo and Stitch) and Storyteller Café character meals. Reservations for Napa Rose can also be made at this time. 714-781-3463

  • 60 Days before you leave, contact vacation planning for special treats (if at one of the 3 Resort Hotels) to be delivered to your room. 714-300-7526 option 2, or email them at vacationplanning@disneyonline.com

  • 45 Days before you leave, make dining reservations for Plaza Inn Breakfast with Minnie and Friends or Birthday Celebration, Blue Bayou, Carnation Café, Wine Country Trattoria, Ariels Grotto Princess Meals, and the Vineyard Room. 714-781-3463

  • 30 Days before you leave make Fantasmic! Balcony or Riverside seating reservations. 714-781-4400

  • 30 days before departure check the hours of operations and show/parade times at www.disneyland.com

  • 14 days before you leave, confirm all reservations and special requests

  • Check with your child's Doctor: get any documentation on shots or health records needed for travel.

  • Create a packing list: if traveling with a young child, diapers can be purchased at a store upon arrival to save suitcase room.

  • Make final decisions: will you take your own stroller, or rent one at the resort? Check our link for stroller information
