Taking A Year To Plan our 2005 Disney Vacation - January 2005

Leanne loves to plan Disneyland Vacations: almost as much as she enjoys visiting Disneyland itself. She is also very good at it. It helps that she spent 15 years as a Travel Agent. This article is an in-depth, personal look of how she planned our June 2005 Disneyland vacation… which started the day after returning from our July 2004 Disneyland vacation. This article is very long and will be updated continually until we take our trip. A more condensed version can be found at: Planning your Disney Vacation - Our 2005 Planning A general Disneyland Planning Guide can be found at: Planning your Disney Vacation

January 2005

After having surgery on January 12th, taking a few weeks to heal after some complications, I once again began thinking about AAA. I finally joined AAA on January 31st. Then, oh no, what's that?? AAA has unlimited Fastpass. Yeah, I knew that. Now, I had to have it. So, I called WDTC to cancel my reservation yet again, so I could book with AAA. But, effective January 1st, they now had cancel fees, and to do that would cost me $100.00. Hmmmmm, was it really worth it? I called WDTC back, explained my problem, and was told that I could send a letter to WDTC, giving them the name of my Agent, and a bunch of other information, and my deposit could be transferred to the new reservation. So, I quickly wrote the letter, had my husband fax it the next day, and we were on our way! Oh, and did I mention, the EXACT same trip, booked with AAA was $120.00 cheaper? Things were looking up. Now, it was time to start thinking about our drive, ordering the trip tiks from AAA, the guide books, scheduling parts of our trip, and so on.
